All you need is image editing software, and you can get that free.
Figure out how big you want to make the cards, usually its A4 paper folded in half.
Open Office has a desktop publishing program (don't forget to download the tutorials!) and there's also Paint dot Net, which is a bit like a cut down version of Photoshop.
Try them both and figure out which one you find easier. Open Office also do templates.

You also need some card to print on, try to get heat pressed card which is a bit shiny. Matt card can give fuzzy effects.
Or try the small photo paper you can get from the pound shop, print on to those and stick them on to folded card.

quite easy really, simply click on start then let the mouse cursor hover over the all programes word this will open up a list of programes on your computer, you will find there a program called Microsoft Picture it ! photo, click on this and it will start up giving you a wide range of choices of how to make that greeting card, and the best thing is its free as you all ready have the programe on your computer and no need to buy something extra, good luck.

Go to http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/
Download the free version of Page Plus (a desk top publishing program) and use the templates to make your cards.
Great software, try the Photo plus as well.

publisher, blank publications I do all my own itsabit awkward at first but you`llsoon get the hang of it I do calenders as well

first you need software that is compatable with your system ( I use Hallmark for windows XP) and it's downhill from there you're all set
