and is so very dis-organized. And how do you deal with how she treats your children as far as disciplining them?

No one disciplines my children but me. I'd make that perfectly clear to everyone and if someone else tried, I'd be all over that person and don't care who they are. I don't care if that person likes me or not, my kids come first.

Find common ground. Shopping? As far as your children are concerned she needs to get if she wants the privilege of seeing them, she needs to get that you and your husband are the only two that can and will discipline them. NO exceptions! If she doesn't get that, no grandma time! You need to take command as a parent before this woman will, or she will really involve herself to your destruction. No one has the right except the parents!

two things:
Talk to your husband. you don't mention him at all. Are you divided about the mother-in-law issue? Are you acting as a team? Have you discussed it with him? Does he know how you feel about his mother? Are there things that need straightening out between you and your mate?
and then:
Pray! Pray for patience! Pray for your dear sweet unorganized mother-in-law! Ask God to give you understanding. Pray for your family! Ask God to work in your situation. He is concerned about everything in our lives! Ask God for strength to be the mother you need to be, the wife you need to be.
As we turn to God, as you - and hopefully your husband - pray and commit things to God, He will give you help....

you know grand-mas always are like that, there are a few people getting along with them, don't worry talk to your husband about it and tell him all the disagreements you have with her, if your husband does not support you then you are lost, ignore her and keep your eye on your children, usually children like grand-mas but not always, don't know what is your case but, if you love your husband you have to try to get along with her, that's what I think,
