Which Macedonians do you mean?
The Greek (authentic) Macedonians are Greeks and therefore you count them among the numbers of Greeks. There are 375,703 (2001 census) and an estimate of 700,000 Australians of Greek origin.
There are also Albanian-Macedonians who are from the modern Slavic/Albanian republic of Macedonia (like mother Teresa who was an Albanian-Macedonian) but their numbers in Australia are not clear. They usually get counted with the numbers of the Slav/Macedonians.
And there are also Slav/Macedonians from Slavic/Albanian Macedonia and they are 81,899 in Australia.(The Albanian-Macedonians included in the above number!)
{Do not confuse the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia or Macedon (which was the birth place of Alexander) with the modern state of Makedonija (or FYROM or Slavic/Albanian Macedonia as they are not related at all). The confusion has started a few years ago because that small state started to use for international use the name “Republic of Macedonia” causing a great confusion with real Macedonia in Greece.}

First of all I would like to state that I'm not nationalist I totally hate nationalism but I'm sick of the stupid things I read everyday on the net..Why u 'Macedonians' are so sure that..ur opinion about the Macedonian debate is the correct one and Greeks' opinion is the wrong one?If Macedonia was Slavic like you are..then why the terms 'Macedonia' 'Philip' 'Alexander' and all this kind of stuff are of a clear Greek origin? Why did u first used the term Macedonia during 90's while Greeks use it since 1830? And I also have to add that this stupid propaganda that people in Northern Greece are 'Macedonians' (Rep. of Macedonia) then why nobody of them speaks ur language (excluding 2.000-3.000 ppl who speak half Greek half Serbian near the borders) ?and why all of them claim that they are Greeks? I don't like the existance of countries nations etc (and I don't like my compatriots at all) or I would prefer at least nations to be friendly to each other as far as they exist but I'm gettin sick of this propaganda that countries around Greece launched the last years..Go get a life and get happy instead of trying to show off and make pride of yourselves via silly nationalistic theories...With all those things I see everyday then Greeks never existed...TS TS TS P.S. At the end u'll claim that acropolis was built by Turks 'Macedonians' and Albanians.. CALM DOWN EVERYBODY... peace out ;-)

Do you really think that you are going to achieve anything with this propaganda?!
The whole World knows that there is just one macedonia.
Yes, some part of it was never freed and returned to Greece from the ottoman occupation and is occupied currently by some other countries including the one that is trying to build a national identity based on somebody else`s history.
If people that currently live in parts of this former Greek land feel like true Macedonians, then they should start learning their macedonian alphabet (i.e. Greek) and start to speak macedonian as well (i.e. Greek) and start learning the macedonian culture and traditions (ie Greek again!)
But hell, then they will be no different than the rest of Greeks!
As for yourself, if you speak slavic, you write slavic and your whole culture and traditions are slavic why the heck do you consider yourself macedonian??? This is so funny..

There are many many MACEDONIANS in Australia!!! But there is also alot of brainwashed Macedonians like the other answers above that say they are Greek!!!! There government confused them when MACEDONIA was divided in 1913!! They jumped the bandwagon and were scared to call themselves MACEDONIAN again because they were going to get beaten by the Greek!!! Its the millennium now guy you can come out and say you are MACEDONIAN!!!!! Nobody will hurt you guys!!! Anyways there is only one MACEDONIA and it is for the MACEDONIANS!!!! As for your question I am from Solun(sorry this is for the Greeks Thessaloniki if they don't understand but I am sure they do!!) and I am MACEDONIAN that speaks the MACEDONIAN language!!!!!
