I admit that I've been that way in the past, I've had major crushes on a guy but as soon as they show interest, I get scared and don't pursue it. But the person never stays away - I'll still crush on them, just waiting for the right time and place, I guess.

So do guys like the chase, and once a girl reciprocates interest, does he find that a turn off and seek another lover?

Note to everyone:
Chases are different.
If you really like someone, my suggestion, have them chase you.
If you like someone as a friend, but you can't help being a natural flirt, just tell lthem you wanna be friends. I accidentally led one of my really good friends on, but now he told me he doesn't like me as a crush.

In my experience, which is vast because I'm very old, the type of person who does that is usually intellegent but suffers from low self esteem. You like somebody but as soon as they show an interest then you start to wonder why they like you because, well why would they, then you draw the conclusion that they must be stupid or have an alteria motive. As you don't want to go out with somebody stupid or devious you back off. I'm not saying that is the case with you, maybe you just haven't found the right person yet. But I've met quite a few people over the years who do that. If you recognise that pattern of behaviour then the way to break it is to except that, despite how you may feel about yourself, intellegent, nice people could be attracted to you because you are intellegent and nice too.

Kinda like me hehe...Sorry I can't give you a good advice on that since I haven't fallen in love yet. Sometimes, I would imagine myself dating for the first time.... chills.. haha! O well.... Good luck! Oh, the advice I can share is to not be scared. It's okay to have that kind of feeling... and kinda surprising because a first it was just a crush but wasn't ready for the next part yet when it's already there.... Just let things go with the flow. Besides, it's just normal to like and be liked and things don't always happen on the right time and place. Things often comes when least expected. Don't think too much on what to do next... or whatever the right things to do. Just let him chase after you (since most of the guys likes it) if he really wants you. Hope I made sense! Good luck!

Yup, girls and guys both like a challenge. The key is to maintain the proper tension of push and pull until something real develops.

I personally love the chase, and am completely uninterested in a girl if she actually seems to like me. I think to myself 'If she likes me, what does that say about her character? She must have very low standards...' etc...

I like it to be simple. Chasing gets to confusing.. Blunt honesty all the way.

Yep. Just like dogs chasing cars. Until they catch one then they have no idea what to do with it.
