I do not think so! Languages are man's invention and as such probably not spoken in Heaven.
Remember that GOD knows what you are thinking and understands your prayers if they are said from your heart.
And this, obviously applies to all religions because, whether we believe or accept it or not, there is an ONLY GOD for all of mankind.

Dear All
Sure yes coz how can I called anyone without i know at least his name but here i have small notice what the word god do you ask about or do you mean God? sure you know there are big difference between God and god the first (God) is indicat for diety but the god (male deity)
The capitalized form "God" was first used in Ulfilas' Gothic translation of the New Testament, to represent the Greek Theos (uncertain origin), and the Latin Deus (etymology "*Dyeus"). Because the development of English orthography was dominated by Christian texts, the capitalization (hence personalization and personal name) continues to represent a distinction between monotheistic "God" and the "gods" of pagan polytheism.
it is strange that we derive from the idols's name the name of the Lord or the Creator
but the name for who created the universe and ppl and every thing is ALLAH.

Martha or Oogie are a couple and I can think of hundreds more names that don't seem to inspire the intended God response somehow.
Yes I think it probably does matter if you want to spread a religion mind-virus to have an appropriately god-like name for your God.
Then again to quote Shakespeare "A rose by any other name..."

Yes the names that was given to moses by the lord himself were: Yahweh, which means the Lord, and Elohim which means God. Yahweh is more of a personal name for God. my name is Mr. Brown If I went over to germany and introduced my self I would say "Hello I am Mr. Brown" I would NOT say "I am Mr. Braun" Braun is german for brown. do you see my point? You are not suppose to translate people's let alone the Lords name!!!
Elohim and Yahweh are the names that Moses and all the other people from the bible called God! Jehova is a mistranslation of the divine name Yahweh, Jehova is not the name of God.

Well yes and no. In Islam there are 99 names, or attributes, of God. The 100th is Allah. So we can call on any of those names and in fact we are encouraged to.

17:110] Say, "Call Him GOD, or call Him the Most Gracious; whichever name you use, to Him belongs the best names."
http://www.submission.org/suras/sura17.htm
One God
[21:21] Have they found gods on earth who can create?
[21:22] If there were in them (the heavens and the earth) other gods beside GOD, there would have been chaos. Glory be to GOD; the Lord with absolute authority. He is high above their claims.
Never Question God's Wisdom
[21:23] He is never to be asked about anything He does, while all others are questioned.
[21:24] Have they found other gods beside Him? Say, "Show me your proof. This is the message to my generation, consummating all previous messages." Indeed, most of them do not recognize the truth; this is why they are so hostile.
One God/One Message/One Religion
[21:25] We did not send any messenger before you except with the inspiration: "There is no god except Me; you shall worship Me alone."
[21:26] Yet, they said, "The Most Gracious has begotten a son!" Glory be to Him. All (messengers) are (His) honored servants.
[21:27] They never speak on their own, and they strictly follow His commands.
The Myth of Intercession
[21:28] He knows their future and their past. They do not intercede, except for those already accepted by Him, and they are worried about their own necks.
[21:29] If any of them claims to be a god beside Him, we requite him with Hell; we thus requite the wicked.

Can They Create a Fly?
73. O people, here is a parable that you must ponder carefully: the idols you set up beside GOD can never create a fly, even if they banded together to do so. Furthermore, if the fly steals anything from them, they cannot recover it; weak is the pursuer and the pursued.
74. They do not value GOD as He should be valued. GOD is the Most Powerful, the Almighty.
75. GOD chooses from among the angels messengers, as well as from among the people. GOD is Hearer, Seer.
76. He knows their past and their future. To GOD belongs the ultimate control of all matters.
77. O you who believe, you shall bow, prostrate, worship your Lord, and work righteousness, that you may succeed.

It depends, if you are a member of a particular religion then most likely there is already a name being used.
Now, on the other hand, if you are not a part of any religious organizations, then you can call god by any name you wish.

God is a generic title for your supreme leader.. In Islam, he tells us his given name.. Allah...
now dont mis interpret this in arabic.. There is a word for a generic god.. its ilah.. sounds familiar but totally different..
the reason he specifically wants us to refer to his name is because pagans before had numerous gods.. god of this, god of that.. In Islam the #1 sin is having or believing in partners other than him.. So he doesnt want us lumping him as a god with other gods.. he is supreme.. therefor worthy of having a first name.. Allah

Yes. God had his name, Jehovah, recorded in the Bible over 7,000 times. That must mean he wants us to know it and use it. When Jesus was on earth, he taught his followers the most important thing to pray about. At Matt. 6:9, he said: "Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified..." How can Christians sanctify (or set aside as something holy) God's name if we don't use it? In prayer to his Father, Jesus also said at John 17:26: "And I have made your name known to them and will make it known..." If Jesus felt this way, we need to follow his example.
