Is it better to tell the atheists how good Jesus is and how Jesus can help them in whatever they do and to help with their propblem, and if they accept Jesus their world will become a better place? Or is it better to tell them that they HAVE to obey Gods commandments and if they dont they will burn in hell?

1CORINTHIANS 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
PSALMS 19:7 The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple.

BTW, I am a Christian, not a modern one that changes the bible to fit my lifestyle, but one that fears God, and thats why I use the Bibe as my standard in life.

Lets see if you can answer this without judging

We are not saved by obeying the law. The rich man found this out. We are saved only by trusting in Jesus for the full payment for our sin.

It is often better to show how Jesus can make a postive difference in how we live

Then being an "old time Christian", you should know that the Holy Spirit converts or touches non believers as He was left here for that purpose. If you tell an atheists that and he converts and it doesn't come true, how foolish you would appear and deceiving.
Your witness to others should be an exemplary lifestyle as possible and a testimony for your blessings and achievements in life that you lay at Christ's feet. Jesus saves, not the pastor or fellow Christians, pray for them and let them first ask you questions. Prayer will open hearts as the knocks come, then the door opens. Peace..

Friend I am a Christian also, now you say let's see if I can answer this without judging, Friend if I tell you the truth, will that be judging. NO, & do you know that the Bible says that the Saints shall judge the world. Now in 1st Cor. 1:18 You are trying to twist that verse around to suit your question.For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, you can not just apply that to Athiets, That verse also at one time was apply to us as unbelievers, even hough we were not athiests, we were unbelievers, so therefore that scripture also looked us right in the face at one time. I also use my standards of living according to the bible, I am not a denomination But an Apostolic Pentacost by faith. We can not take a verse out of content to use it angaist athiests, Because everyone of all the verses at one time also looked us in the face.

If you are a true Christian then prove it you can do by following quote from the Bible..........

Jesus in John 14:12 & Mark 16:17-18 said: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth in me, the works that I do shall he also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." This implies that Jesus’ true followers should be able to routinely perform the following tricks: 1) cast out devils, 2) speak in tongues, 3) take up serpents, 4) drink poisons without harm, and 5) cure the sick by touching them and MANY other of Jesus’ "works". Curiously I have yet to see a Christian that can do any of the above on demand.

drink deadly poison and than come back to me ........

well first of all, notice that the bible verse says that the law of the lord is perfect, not that the people who wrote it down would write it perfectly. that's why born agains are wrong. but, also, if you ask any pastor or read other bible verses, you will find that the lord wants us to choose to come to him of our own free will. that is the reason that we have free will, so that we may choose to believe or not. you telling me i'm gonna go to hell is going to make me not want to interact with you, but if you tell me more about jesus and what religion is all about, i'm sure to at least give you a chance to change my mind, which i would hope is your ultimate goal.

that's just my two cents.

Most likely, atheists will not acknowledge the Bible as an authority. It would be better to point out things in God's creation and reason with them that these things did not come about by themselves. They must have been made by some intelligent designer. Ro. 1:20 says: "For [God's] invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world's creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable."

It's best to allow people to do as they please and get your bored stupid Christian noses out of everyone's business. Christians are the ones with "a problem" in that you believe a stupid, blatant and not even very clever pile of lies - not even Jesus has ever existed, let alone all that other nonsense about walking on water... I encourage all Christians to practice walking on water, though - someplace very deep...

I think atheists need to find out for themselves. I'm Christian but I think that everyone should have the freedom to find God in their own way and whether they call him God, Allah, or Buddah should be up to them. Just pray for them that they find God.
