Why do Shitte Muslims and Sunni Muslims hate each other? When did the difference become such a life and death matter? Is the difference in the interpretation of the same religon or is it something else. How do they tell each other apart?

Sunnis believed that the successor to Mohommad should be elected and Shiites believed that Mohommad's blood relatives should be in charge. That's the gist of it.

It's sort of like Catholics and Protestants we are both Christian but we don't see things quite the same and we can get a little sh'itty with each other now and then. The Shitte and Sunni are both Muslims and they are both a little sh'itty all the time. God bless kisses Betty.
