Why do people bash the jews?

Because they control Hollywood and everything and all the money and make bread out of the blood of Christian kids...NOT.

Some of the hatred comes from the success Jews enjoy thru adhering to a system of values that promotes education and doing well (but this is also why people hate successful immigrants in the US - e.g. some of the Asian cultures - it's not a specific enough reason)

I think specific Jew hatred, comes from 2 places:

1. The Jewish religion institutionalizes being separate from the Gentiles in an astonishing multitude of ways from circumcision to diet to rites of passage. Every act in the religion either prescribes unique things Jews must do or prescribes ways in which mundane things must be done with a "Jewish twist" Even the Jews who no longer observe the letter of the law still remember the spirit of the law so we live in "Jewish neighborhoods" etc.

2. Jews owe their primary allegiance to something other than the country of their citizenship. The diaspora (exile from the holy land) made Jews a self professed "wandering" people. The formation of the state of Israel also underscored this point.

These 2 aspects that serve to differentiate Jews from non-Jews, combined with basic human xenophobia, makes for a lot of "bashing" as you call it.

Still, the Amish are a pretty differentiated people and nobody hates them as much (except that sicko who shot up that school)

Humans love or need a scapegoats. Historically, Jews have been likely targets due to conspicuousness of dress or manner. As more cultures mix together but without full assimilation, perhaps other groups will receive equal bashing.

Multiple reasons. There an easy target. They are the chosen people of God. That doesn't earn them bonus points. They have always bin successfully minority. Nobody likes the winners. Nazism has bin very successfully at spreading hatred for Jews. The current reason Israel. Muslims hate it cause its a big thorn in what they think is there land. Plus this little country can pretty successfully defend it self against all those fanatics.

In the time of Christ, the Jews were given a choice bet tween the prosecution of Christ or a common murder. The Jews chose to have Christ prosecuted, mainly for political reasons. Christianity, Judaism, as well as Islam all have there roots in the old testament, however they split in there own direction, as did Islam its self. all the religions based in the old testament now blame the other for the death of there particular profit. Its a little more complicated than that, but that the basic picture.

No one likes one particular lot of people to be more shrewd, more intelligent and far more progressive. The insecure lot that gets left behind, vent their anger on those that are sharper and better than them. They don't realize that just as much as intelligence helps people propel themselves forward, so does hardwork. Sometimes seeing too many people of the same group get ahead faster than them can peeve people. Lack of their own progress or feeling that they've been cheated out of their chances makes them get down to 'jew' bashing. In many parts of the world it happens with other communities too.
