Something like "Praise God". It isn't "Allah Allah Allah Akbeeeeeeer" though. You bet you pissed a lot of muslims off now.

Let me elaborate a little on the meaning, from the thumps-down, I guess people misunderstood me.

Literally, it means God is the Greatest.
It's used in the following situations:
1- To call for prayers as said by one of the posters. It's like a cheering motto to encourage people to go for prayers.
2- We say it as an expression of sympathy if the other one is blaming some one for his sufferings.. etc.

So it depends on the context, there is no specific meaning, but the must popular use is to call for prayers.
