If you were meant to have such things then you'd already have them ,,,, There has to be something wrong with a persons mind that they would willingly deface or scar their body with such crap ,,,,, This goes especially for women ,,,,, I know people of both genders that have been sorry they willingly indulged this form of self abuse of their bodies and they fervently wish now that they hadn't done it ,,,, One person tried to have a tattoo removed ,,,, It involves numbing and freezing the skin and then it's literally sanded off ,,,,, Needless to say that the scarring is just as unsightly as the tattoo was ,,,, Never do to your body now what you might wind up regretting later no matter what the inducement is ,,,, Such things reflect the stupidity of the people that do these things ,,,,,

I'm a big fan. I have 3 tattoos (ankle, shoulderblade, and back of neck) and plan to get more eventually. I have 2 holes in each earlobe, my right daith, left rook, and right nostril pierced, as well as one below the belt.
I'm a grownup. In fact, I got all of the above except one tattoo and two of the piercings AFTER graduating from college. I've been in the work force for a while, including a stint working for the government. My tattoos and piercings have never been a problem, because I've made sure that I dress and act very professionally. None of my piercings are especially objectionable (I use a tiny, flat stud in my nose), and my tattoos are all very easily covered up if I really need to. In fact, many of the people who see me at work every day don't even know that I have them.
Nearly all piercings can be temporary, leaving only a tiny scar. Even if you stretch your earlobes out, as long as you've done it slowly and carefully, they will return to their original size if you leave the jewelery out long enough. Tattoos are pretty much permanent, unless you're willing to spend big bucks on getting laser removal (which doesn't always work 100%), so I thought about each tattoo for over a year before getting it.
They're really a form of personal expression. The key word here is PERSONAL. There will always be some people who don't like them, and if you're not willing to put up with that, then you should probably think twice before getting them. Ultimately, you have to do what makes you happy.

Have tattoos or piercings done after you finish college. Because if not you'll have done it all by then and it'll get boring. Before you get a tattoo get a Hep B shot and have it again after one month and then three months. Take a friend along with you if you are unsure to make sure the artist uses new needles and does not over charge. After a tattoo you have to keep it covered for about 12 hours. Then wipe the ink away with a cloth soaked in warm water. Do not wet it while bathing the first day and keep if away from sunlight for a week. Apply some oil on the area it will look glossy.
They sound fun things to do. But it is like marriage, once done leaves a mess if you want to undo it. Its a commitment thing. Have fun.

I like them (mostly), but it's all about personal opinion. I would advise that you wait a bit to start the tattoos though, i know every old person in the book will say this to you but it's true - what you want indelibly marked on your bod at 17 is probably not going to be what you want there even at 25. If you do go ahead; think up a design and keep it for a while, look carefully through your tattoists work (new and old - they look different once healed) and above all MAKE SURE THE SHOP IS CLEAN with auto clave sterilisation and disposable needles opened in front of you each time.

I like tattoos, I don't have any of my own yet, but I have been deeply thinking of getting one. Just make sure it means something to you, and remember you are stuck with it for life. Another tip, becareful of where you get it, some jobs are highly against tattoos that can be seen, make sure you can have it covered.
I'm not really into peircings, on some people they look really great, others its just weird. You can always get one, if you don't like it, let it close up. Its not as permanent as a tattoo.

I love both. Honestly piercings are very temporary because at any time you can take it out, however you can scar badly if you do the face. Tatoos are even better but make sure it is personal and means something to you. I hear too many stories of people who get drunk and tatoo something randomly in a visible spot. Have it drawn out and hang it on the wall for two weeks. If you still absolutely love it then you are all good

Hi there. I am 18 and are seriously considering a tatoo. I currently have piercings and I find them perfectly fine, just as long as you go somewhere very clean and safe. the difference between tatoos and piercings are that you can always remove a belly ring etc, but with tatoos.. you have to think alot whether you should get it. It is something you keep 4 life unless you get that laser removal which hurts and also leaves scaring.....also a word of advice...... dont get a partners name on yourself.....worst mistake.....you never know what happens in the future..

They are a form of expression. When I get mine I will be getting them from artists that I know are not just reputable but respected by their peers for the quality of their work and you should do the same if you decide to get tattooed. I don't know anything about piercing but I would do homework on that as well if I were you. Ask your friends for references-that's the best way. Good Luck!

I have two tattoos that I got when I was younger. Now I wished I hadn't gotten them. I've got a nose ring that I really like though. I can take that out any time I want, but I'm stuck with the tattoos.

I have three tats and each one symbolises something in my life. If you get one think hard about what you want and "Does it mean something to you that is never going to change?" Also if you think that you will be embarrassed by what your getting if the general public can see it or perspective employers then get it somewhere where it can be covered during a job interview. Piercing are different they can be removed. I think too many is disgusting.
