Thank you for serving our country. I was not born here but i am willing do die for the freedoms this country protect internally and externally. I have traveled to many different parts of the world and I realize how great this country truly is. I am also sad that some Americans care more about the rights of foreign hostile governments then protecting there own country. Personally i view Islam as a threat to our democracy. Its a religion with a clear political goal. A form of socialism with the protection of religion. Still im not sure you question fits in the religion and spirituality category.

While I appreciate you patriotism, I am a little shocked at your last sentence - for why should others have done anything FOR you? What have you ever done for us, specifically?
Actually, Australia has done quite a bit for the USA. We export a lot of natural resources to you to support your manufacturing industry, we have supported you in umpteen wars (not always a popular choice here among the people) and so on.
America symbolises racism for me, which is a sad thing. It also symbolises religious fanaticism, which is not surprising given it was founded by religious fanatics who were driven out of England due to their extreme views.
It does not symbolise freedom to me, for I see more and more of your freedoms eroded every day.
The rampant, wanton materialism just shocks me. Over these last few days all over the web there have been people being thankful for what they have over Thanksgiving - yet I have not heard ONE of those people mention one word about the lest fortunate in the world, or what they are doing to help eradicate world poverty. Angelina Jolie is a shining example, as are Bill & Melinda Gates and I'm sure many others - they just haven't been posting lately! I'm sure there are many others too, of course - but generally? An American said to me today, "We are Americans, we like having stuff". How sad, I thought.
You asked. Sorry if you don't like the answer, but that's how I see it.

The mark of a immature man is that he wants to die for a noble cause. The mature man wants to live for one. If you die, who lives to defend your ideals. America is another country. Others live in the world and are proud of where they live, and will die too. But, who wants to live? Ameriuca is one of the youngest nations in the world, it would have needed asisstance to be what it is now and still does. Check your history! Muslims catered greatly. And no I am not a muslim.

I was going to put a trite answer- but your comment made me think.
I live in the UK and also feel proud of the sacrifices those of this and previous generations made in the name of freedom.
All free societies have their unpleasant elements, and we have to tolerate them in order that they cannot flourish as underground or subversive movements.
I believe that tolerance is the key word to moving forward- we have to learn to get along with difference.
I still feel unsure about our role in Iraq and have alot of respect for the common decency of many people who live in the Islamic world, and also for decent Americans.
Unfortunately, and particularly on the inter-net, all we get is religious fanatics and republican ranters!
It is time that ordinary people who just want to get on their with lives, raise their families, and earn a crust, started speaking out against intolerance and injustice- but maybe they have better things to do than spend their time in cyber space!!

This country was founded on some excellent principals. However, it has all gone straight to that imaginary hell that the fundies who have taken over this country love so much.
Religion is a cancer that has made sick the whole world. America never had a chance.

It became as quickly as defined as a place the place human beings have been morally obligated and the place doing what became good became a thank you to flow. additionally, united statesa. became as quickly as a place the place you could desire to show delight on your Savior, Christ Jesus. Now, this is a desert of whiny self-strung liberals and unlawful immigrants, who spit on the know-how of Jesus.
