Your preferences are not clear, whether you want a sedan or a hatch.Whether you are looking for economy or flat-out performance. However, considering your budget of Rs.7 lakhs, you may want to check these cars: Swift ZXi : the swift petrol now comes with fully loaded features such as an audio system, steering mounted audio controls and much more.It is now more faster and has a free-revving engine. It has the best ride and handling in its segment and is an exciting car to drive. Polo 1.6 Petrol : you may have to stretch your budget a little bit up to buy this one.The tag 1.6 says it all.It comes with many features and is a overall good car. Hyundai i20 ; perhaps the most loaded car in this segment, it has a sunroof and many more. But, do think that the drive is no where as near as the Swift or the Polo. Fiat Punto 90hp : this is a powerpacked car and is a good overall performance car.The interiors are a bit of a letdown and essential features are missing Ford Figo 1.4 : this diesel car has the power advantage over its rivals and has the most responsive steering. The gearshift is a tad behind its rivals. This car has a free revving engine and catapults. Ford Fiesta 1.6S : you may have to extend your budget to 9 lakhs for this car. This is the best drivers car made in India and is a flat-out performer. The feature list is decent but the performance is beyond ones assumptions. If the budget is a letdown, then the lower variant Fiesta Zxi is good buy too as the features remain unchanged and only the engine is downsized.

For that on-road budget, the only car you can get is the Fiesta EXi (at about 6.6). The Honda city starts at about 7, and if you want any driving pleasure you need the VTEC which is at about 9.25Lakhs. The other option is to wait for the new Baleno, but given suzuki's track record in making original vehicles you will get a very boring car, though very reliable.

Go for Honda Citi. Mitshubishi Lancer is also good.
