I went through it last December. The PT isnt that bad. It is designed to get everyone to where they can pass. Its not the army. There are no 5 mile runs or any of that. Since you will be there in the winter time, your PT will be indoors in Freedom Hall. Its huge, with a bunch of indoor tracks. You always start off with stretchs and that kind of stuff. We usually alternated, some days the main focus was running and some days conditioning with pushups and situps. As you progress through boot camp you start to run farther and longer. I'm not in very good shape and I didnt have any problems. If you arent a strong swimmer I would suggest praticing. Don't worry about it. If you have any questions you can email me.

Navy physical training isn't as tedious and demanding as Army or Marine training. You should run every day to build up your ability and have it timed as required by the military. You will have more in class work that outdoor activities. It really isn't that much to it and you will do quite well. Avoid the trouble makers and try to be a team player. You will have to make personal adjustments and use tolerance because everyone is different. Keep your cool too and remember it's about discipline and accomplishment. You will feel a great deal of pride when your company wins your flags! GOOD LUCK!!!!

Boot Camp is designed to train you. You don't have to be Wonder Women when you get there. And you might not be a strong runner now but at the end of boot camp u will be.

My boyfriend is in the Airforce, and he just finished boot camp. He compared it to a football camp. He worked out before he left--everyday, either running or doing push-ups/sit-ups/jumping jacks/etc. I figure if you are determined, you'll do fine. And if you start working out now, and get into a decent shape, you'll make it easy as pie. Don't worry. And thank you for joining the Military in a time like this. Its people who join now who are America's heros of today.

For us old ones, I can say you are not experiencing anything other then what we all have felt when we were in our position.Perhaps one of the new soldiers here, can address this question a to how it is now.
Either way I am proud of you for having taken the desision to serve your nation.
