Normally...Traditionally the bride's parents would send out the invitations...So, It would be

Mr & Mrs........Invite you to attend the wedding of their Daughter.....To........ Therefore, the Brides name comes first!

I think there is a lot of variation in how wedding invitations are now 'worded'. Depends on whether the 'parents' are issuing the invitation of maybe the bridal couple are issuing the invitation. It's your wedding - go ahead with how YOU want to word your invites.

There are lots of craft stores where you can find beautiful papers to make your invitations. Most of these people have very helpful staff that will help you choose something suitable. These can usually be printed out quite simply on a computer at home - using Word or Publisher.

I also made my own invites on my computer. I used my Hallmark card software. I used search engines to find wedding invite wording and also I had a catalog by rexcraft that I went off of too. I picked different parts of different invitation examples and put together my own. I also have a journal that I have been keeping for a few years of quotes and saying that I like. I also put a couple of those on my invite. Since we are in our 30's and have children I worded mine something like...Bride and Groom together with their children request the honour of your presence...
Hope that kinda helps :)
