I started having migraines when I was 8 or 9 yrs. old. I tried everything to get relief, was even hospitalized for over a week with one that was so bad I could'n t breathe without pain..still they found nothing. Finally, when I was much older, and quite by accident, I was at the doctor for a follow-up exam from a previous bad headache, and he noticed my blood pressure was much higher. It turned out I have uncontrolled BP, and when he started me on Norvasc, the headaches all but disappeared! I still get them, but they are few and far between, and not nearly as severe as what had been my life experience. Maybe you should ask your doctor to pay closer attention to the pattern of your blood pressure. Hope this helps, and I will keep you in my prayers, because I know how horrible this is. Best wishes..

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches). Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles). Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago. Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain. The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles). For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

You may be having Migraine headaches, which to me are the worst. No one knows why they start, but the can be hormonally induced. The pain can last 1-3 days or more with sensitivity to light, nausea, and intense pain on one side of the head or the other. It is almost like an intense throbbing, hurt to turn your head kind of headache. You can have an MRI to properly diagnose it, then all you can do is get somewhere dark and quiet, take pain and nausea medication, and lay down and sleep the pain away until it runs its course. Hope this helps you. Best of luck to you.

Hello: I have Migraines, I feel one coming on now so, I may be some time writing this. I take "Topamax" and it works instantly but unfortunately it makes me a Little woozy. It's also hard to spell. They come up from the back of my neck, the shoulder are, and I feel them around the base of my neck, the words on the screen start looking three "d" then the headache starts in, the headache comes up my neck stats hurting and it works up to my right ear, over it and I start hearing a radio in the background but, I can't make it out. Then the headache goes to my right eye by now it's pounding and I can't see, my head is coming apart. I take a "Topamax" and almost instantly it all stops and then I start getting a little woozy. I can't and don't drive anymore.
It might help. "Topamax might help, it was made for migraines and seizures, tell your doctor about it, try it out, might help. never know. good luck.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

This is migrain. There is no medicine in this world on migrain, rheumatism, hypertension, diabetes, tinnitus, stammering, deaf and mutism, spondylosis and commoncold also. But doctors don't tell it as a part of their business.
Acupuncture is the only remedy for it. In some villages people treat it with some herbs. e. g. drop 2 to 3 drops juice of drumstic leaflets in the opposite side of pain or both.
If nothing helps think visiting us.

There may be a blood vessal that expands thru stess. This increases pressure on the brain, which causes pain. But it could also be a number of other reasons for it. See a different Doc.
