Will it fit my car or would I have to get certain parts to make it fit and what parts? Also is there anyone that has already done this and have any ideas in what I should replace my old tranny with if not the C4?

It is true that a C-4 Transmission wil BOLT UP to your engine. Whether or not it will work well, is another story. You may have to change the PCM as well. Your existing AOD-E transmission is electronically controlled, which relies on inputs and outputs from the transmission. If these are missing, it MAY cause driveability issues. Not to mention the need to "rig up" a mechanical kickdown to the throttle body. All of that, and the C-4 will NOT hold up to the output as well. You are better off finding another AOD-E, or beefing up the existing one in your vehicle now.

you can do it but you may need a different drive shaft. Just go to the wrecking yard and search all vehicles and find one that will fit. you will loose gas mileage but atleast you can go for a while until you find a AODE tranny that was orinally equipt in that car. Your car is the 5.0 right?

C-4 is a FORD tyranny. what is in your stang now? if it is auto (e-4OD or a-4OD) w/ 302 (5.0) most c-4's will bolt up. slip yokes may be different and tyranny may be different lengths requiring a different length drive-line.

PS c-4's came in AMC jeeps, after that they were Chrysler, before they were willies.

A C-4 comes out of a Jeep. You may be able to use it if the bellhousing bolt holes and the shaft align with eachother. Not sure this is possible/not possible.Gear ratio anf shaft rotation may be different also.Good luck anyways!
