cause it's the best way to celebrate God! God is everywhere, and so many descriptions of God remind us this fact, all the time!
why you care so much about what kind of worship other peoples do?

Hindus have only one God which is known as the sat chit ananda para brahman. It is beyond the concept of human being and
it is not possible for human brain to comprehend its dimention.
As far so many Gods they are called as Saguna Brahman or Gods with quality. I will give a simple example a person has many devises in his home all run by the same current.
But one devise cannot be subtituted for the other.for eg you can heat water in geyser and iron your clothes with an electric iron if you want air you put on the fan and if you want light you put on the light. One energy called electric current runs all these appliances yet you are required to have different type of structures to suit your need.
The Hindu Concept of miscellaneous gods is of the same nature
Laksmi is godess of wealth and saraswati is godess of learning, Durga is godess of strength and yama is god of death. Each have their own function but they execute it by the primordial energy of nirguna Brahman. The concept is vast and years of study and a attained Guru is needed to fully comprehend the brahman.

Its has once been reported that there are 6 millions god and goddess in India. They have gods and goddess for anything and everything they can find. Amazing!!.

we b'lieve it as a religion,my dear. we do not take it any further.
we are not paranoids like the muslims ,..if anything went bad or out of religion,then we just forget bout that
