Scientology; where does this come from?! Just another person who felt he would write a book about his thoughts of explaining the reasoning for life. He was just a man... it's not like he was Jesus.

There is a void in every persons heart that is meant to be filled with G-d. You cant fill it with scientology, drugs, sex or anything else.

You will feel empty until its filled with Him

Blessings to u all

What have you read or studied about Scientology that was actually written by L. Ron Hubbard?
You're right, he was just a man. He was a much loved friend and teacher too. He did not just write a book though.
L. Ron Hubbard explained fully the theology and technologies of Scientology in more than 500,000 pages of writings, including dozens of books and over 2,000 tape-recorded public lectures.

So I don't really know why Scientology leaves you feeling hopeless, misslead and unfufilled, since it seems to have the opposite effect on most other people who read the books he wrote. They find what he wrote useful and applicable and helpful to their lives.
You will have to be a bit more specific with your question before I can answer it properly.

sorry to be the first to tell you this but jesus was just a man too...son of god / virgin birth...well, maybe if she didn't want people to know she was sleeping around...

if L Ron Hubbard were around 2000 years ago, scientology wouldve been a legitamate religion like christianity. people took this stuff more seriously back then & spread it like crazy. now, we're already programmed with religions that are 2000+ years old so scientology looks strange

ok start giving me thumbs down. sad part is that it's true

I know little about Scientology, so cannot answer. Now-it you want to know why Christianity leaves me this way, that is another story. Jesus was just a man, too. G-d is One. There is no G-d but G-d.

Scientology is not a religion at all; it's psychology. If you've read Hubbard's books, that is obvious. I believe the only reason they tagged themselves as a "religion" was for the tax benefits.

Anyone who is looking for spirituality is seeking a higher power, and Scientology does not fulfill this desire. Only in the pursuit of the higher power do those who truly want spiritual enlightenment find fulfillment.

It is a $CAM.

L. Ron Hubbard has been quoted as saying: "Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wants to make a million dollars, the best way would be to start his own religion" http://lisatrust.freewinds.cx/scientology/hubbard.htm

The cult is mostly a high powered scam. It pays members 10% commissions, called FSM (Field Staff Member) commissions, on new recruits they bring in who take a course or get counseling, so Scientology members routinely try to "sell" Scientology to others.

The new members then, in turn, donate vast amounts of money to the "church". Here is a run-down of all the costs involved with Scientology: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology_as_a_business#Costs

Here is testimony from a woman who had been involved in exposing Scientology and other cults for most of her adult life: http://www.clambake.org/archive/books/tsos/sos-19.html

Even more proof that Scientology is out for your money... here is Hubbard discussing turning Scientology into a "religion" for profit:

"I am not quite sure what we would call the place - probably not a clinic - but I am sure that it ought to be a company, independent of the HAS but fed by the HAS. We don't want a clinic. We want one in operation but not in name. Perhaps we could call it a Spiritual Guidance Center. Think up its name, will you. And we could put in nice desks and our boys in neat blue with diplomas on the walls and 1. knock psychotherapy into history and 2. make enough money to shine up my operating scope and 3. keep the HAS solvent. It is a problem of practical business. I await your reaction on the religion angle. In my opinion, we couldn't get worse public opinion than we have had or have less customers with what we've got to sell. A religious charter would be necessary in Pennsylvania or NJ to make it stick. But I sure could make it stick." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology_controversy#L._Ron_Hubbard_and_starting_a_religion_for_money

You're right. L. Ron Hubbard was a smart man, trying to help people do the most fundamental thing to exist happily on this planet--get over painful experiences that define the essence of human life. I, like you, don't understand how something so enlightening and wonderful to discover about human nature could have gotten so polluted. I say, take the teachings and run with them. Forget the religious mumbo-jumbo.

L Ron Hubbard, a science fiction writer did this and he's RICH. If you have twenty million in your bank account you could be in his "religion". He's a phoney, look into the truth on scientology. I like the bible, I know Jesus isn't making any money out of it.
