What an open ended question.....
The police in general are great but sadly i feel that they are let down continually by the system they are trying to serve and protect.
I think these guys do a great job and I think it's time our government (yes YOU JOHN HOWARD) took notice of this and made changes to the system that continually lets our Police Force down.
I have recently watched the police arrest two men for raping a 13 yr-old girl and they were so happy to finally be able to charge these men for such a hideous crime only to have these men go to court and both get 3 month suspended sentences. The police involved in this were very disappointed by this result.
I have also watched the police try and protect our community from a mob of angry 13-14 yr olds and charge them several times only for these kids to get slap on the wrists for hate crimes, vandalism etc.
YES the police do a great job BUT sadly they are let down by our government and its lack of policing their system and its guidelines!
Bravo to the police for doing such a great job under such difficult circumstances.

Heh, I thought you were talking about the band at first. It is a good band.
But Police officers are definitely good people, generally. Once in a while you might get a corrupt cop but the blame could be placed in other places, like restaurants. I know that a Sonic burger near me gives discounts to officers but an officer I know declines the offer because it is a sort of bribery. But some officers will accept the discount and later when they pull the person over, they let them off with a warning because they gave the officer a good prices hamburger. That sort of stuff. But most police officers are still good and I still like them.

I don't like the police because they have not been around to help me personally when I was in trouble, but they were there to get me for curfew, pull me over for not having my lights on or to give me parking tickets. The main reason I don't like them is because of the harsh treatment of police officers toward an old friend for a minor offense that drove him to commit suicide that same day.
As people who serve to protect the community, I support the police as an institution of public service. However, I have not had a single positive experience personally with the police. I will never see my friend again.

I'm for the police as well. It's unfortunate that there are some who step over the line but that's in every profession out there. I've seen a lot of good, some that could use improvement and some that you just have to shake your head over, but all in all they do a job that is thankless at best and dangerous at its worst. Big pat on the back for them.

Th Policeman/Police are put there in our Society to protect us from them who would harm the innocent.
I do not have to carry a firearm to protect my self from the "bad" guys, because I can call the Police.
I can sleep easier at night because the policemen patrol my neighborhood.
I can work and focus on my work because they do protect my children from the Vulchers.
A police man/woman places their life in jeopardy on a daily/hourly basis to protect and to serve the citizens. These are not ordinary people. These are special people.
Yes, there are some whom leave lot's to be desired. I know a few of those type my self.
This is why we have a city Council/Government to voice our opinion to, re: such police personnel.
I fully support the police. Cannot begin imagine where or ociety would be today, "if it was not for them to make that difference"

Most police are sincere and have a true desire to help. There are those who get a little power crazy.
I repect all policemen and women for the job that they do. How many others can say their life is on the line every day? Police, firemen, and those who volunteered for duty in the war.
They all get my utmost respect.

i support the idea but it seems that the actual people have gotten way off the original ideology. theyre supposed to serve and protect, but i have come to realize they do more suspecting than protecting. they talk down to and treat everyone like a criminal, one time i had my cell phone stolen on the beach, and i told an officer and he said, "well whyd you lose your cell phone." i think my hatred for them is because i've never witnessed a police officer help me or anyone i know in any way, in fact they took theyre damn sweet time to come when my father was terrorizing my mom, but damn are they there in a jippy to come harass me and my friends over trespassing, curfew, or weed. basically, i would like cops if they werent such dicks all the time

I simply hate the police. IM from pakistan, and if u ever come here, u will know what i mean. They are all corrupt. They stop any innocent motorist to backmail him for money, or they either fine him or arrest him. They would almost do anything to get a bribe. They are rude and incompotent. Its not safe with them around. You wouldnt be surprised to know that some police work with criminal gangs. Things really need to shape up here.
