When my girlfriend and I get in fights, I become extremely hurt that I can make her feel so mad and/or sad. It pisses me off that I can't seem to control my emotions. I cry like a punk *** baby. I've never had this type of problem before. After I cool off, I then begin to wonder if she is going to leave me cause of my emotion. I've heard others bail out of relationships cause their man is...too emotional. I have no clue what I'm trying to ask at the moment, cause I'm asking this right after a disagreement we just had.

Reason we fought was I did not apologize for being late.

I think it's good that you have emotions and show them, but now maybe it is time to be a little more in touch with them so they don't sneak up on you and overwhelm you. She means a lot to you and it's triggering some feelings of possible abandonment it sounds like--probably tapping into old baggage from childhood.

I find when my reaction doesn't match the situation it is usually because of something in my past, not the issue at hand.

Sounds like you have an incentive problem not an emotional one just think if the shoe was on the other foot and she was the one late would you want her to aleast acknowledge you had been waiting for her. When you see that sure you have a reason for being late and you think she should understand ( which she would if you would explain) but to her you are just expecting her to wait and if she would have known you were going to be late than she could have do something else while you were too busy for her. Remember a relationship is a give and take So give some and if she keeps taking than she is too demanding and you need to evaluate the situation and figure out if you can deal with this

Well ever consider that you might just be okay. After all, not apologizing for being late...is that big of deal. I hate to say it, but maybe she isn't being fair to you. I have seen men cry...and never had I ever thought it was funny, or uncalled for. In fact, I have always found to be one of the most honest methods that I have seen a man use to express his emotions and feelings. Mostly because it is so unusual. Mostly...it is just that I believe that it's worst to hide what you feel, than to express it.

Perhaps you are more sensitive than you realize. There could also be some issues between the two of you that haven't come to the surface yet. If you haven't recognized them yet, you cannot discuss them. Try opening up more and sharing your vulnerable side. Everybody has one.
