my 4-year old daughter is now in KG. Before she was not shy or afraid of people and used to enjoy herself with all the fun rides in amusement parks with other kids. Now she gets very afraid of people, always hiding behind her mother, and reluctant to have fun with other kids although she's more than perfect at home...what's going on? I'm worried...

she's USED to being around adults. she is probably a serious child as well.
she can deal with kids her own age only for short periods of time. my nephew was the same way when he was that age. he never had really good friends his own age. all his close friends were old people (old, even to me, old) and now that he's 19 most of them are either dead or on their last leg.
if you MAKE her deal with kids her own age all the time , she could 'dumb down' to try to fit in and that's not good for anyone.

It could be the social shock of going to Kindergarten. I don't know because when my son went to preschool, he came home more energetic, excited and had lots of fun with other kids.

Now they are putting ghetto-rap names on KINDERGARTEN? Give me a break.

It's normal separation anxiety.
