If you strain really hard to throw up, it is a possibility that some stomach acid will arise from the esophagus. I know it's like a burning sensation in your throat that's take a little while to go away. I have experienced this many times after I have regurgitated or even before. Try WEBMD.com, maybe they could tell you even better than I can pertaining to the situation at hand. CIAO!!

Since the stomach secretes acid, vomit contains a high concentration of hydronium ions and is therefore strongly acidic. So yes, when you puke more then a little bit of acid comes up.

Yes. The stomach is loaded with hydrochloric acid and it burns like crap if you puke a lot. I have pancreatic cysts and twice every morning makes me sound like gravel. That's also one of the main dangers of bulimia nervosa.

Bulimia can lead to gums receding, teeth rotting, oesophagus tearing, stomach lining tearing and premature heart failure. Consult a specialist immediately. Remember there's nothing to be ashamed of, they go into that profession to help you, not to judge you. It is only best, you are battling this because of your perception of body image, but remember that you are not only damaging your life, future and present, you will also deeply affect your families. IT'S NOT WORTH IT. Good Luck.

yes acid comes up. you can damage your esophagus by puking all the time so if you're into bulimia you might want to cut it out.
