If not, then can you provide a statement that, if true, would prove your hypothesis that a god or gods exist to be false?

Atheists: Can you provide a statement that would prove your belief that no god(s) exist to be false?

God of the Accursed: I can't and that is the point of this question. I can't, that is unless you offered a test that would prove or disprove it to you. I think the Bible and the Qu`ran offer many of these tests that would prove the existence of their deities and every one of them fails. I was just hoping to see what the theists would offer as a possible test to disprove their hypothesis or show by their silence or unwillingness to offer a test that they are indeed close minded.

For thousands of years not one religion has been able to prove the existence of a man living in a cloud. Not one. The only proof that they have is because someone said so. But they take in $3 billion a year in donations and cover up the 100 million killed for God.while they go for $4 Billion.

If the existence of God could be proved or disproved in any concrete form or fashion then there would be no such thing as Faith- God is as real to the believer as our earthly parents are. Though some may come across as close minded or judgemental, we should still be open-hearted and willing to share what we believe. If I knew in my heart (whether reality or not) that you were going to drop dead at 3:30 PM tomorrow unless you ate two turkey sandwiches by noon, would you rather I try to convince you of what your lunch choice should be- maybe even ambush you with a to-go order from Subway- or just sit back and let fate reveal itself apathetic as to whether you live or die?
There is only one Truth, that anyone who seeks it can find, and will always be more powerful then agnostic existentialism.

Isn't that the true question? Is there a great beyond? Heaven?
Hell? God? I prefer to see my reality as a paradigm of facts. Evolution? Alot of factual evidence and more coming everyday. God? Very few written documents from the era of " God realization". Most, exaggerated and quite unbelievable.
Close minded ? No.
Always open to relative discussion.

open to other peoples thoughts...not looking to blaspheme God in the process sorry

Equally "closed minded" I see. I saw no athiest offer disproof of their belief either.

I'll debate anything, but I just cant say certian things against God...it is a Holy topic. anything else, I'm in!

Can You Prove God Exists?

Before we answer this question, we must distinguish five questions that are often confused.

* First, there is the question of whether something exists or not. A thing can exist whether we know it or not.
* Second, there is the question of whether we know it exists. (To answer this question affirmatively is to presuppose that the first question is answered affirmatively, of course; though a thing can exist without our knowing it, we cannot know it exists unless it exists.)
* Third, there is the question of whether we have a reason for our knowledge. We can know some things without being able to lead others to that knowledge by reasons. Many Christians think God's existence is like that.
* Fourth, there is the question of whether this reason, if it exists, amounts to a proof. Most reasons do not. Most of the reasons we give for what we believe amount to probabilities, not proofs. For instance, the building you sit in may collapse in one minute, but the reliability of the contractor and the construction materials is a good reason for thinking that very improbable.
* Fifth, if there is a proof, is it a scientific proof, a proof by the scientific method, i.e., by experiment, observation, and measurement? Philosophical proofs can be good proofs, but they do not have to be scientific proofs.

I believe we can answer yes to the first four of these questions about the existence of God but not to the fifth. God exists, we can know that, we can give reasons, and those reasons amount to proof, but not scientific proof, except in an unusually broad sense.

There are many arguments for God's existence, but most of them have the same logical structure, which is the basic structure of any deductive argument. First, there is a major premise, or general principle. Then, a minor premise states some particular data in our experience that come under that principle. Finally, the conclusion follows from applying the general principle to the particular case.

In each case the conclusion is that God exists, but the premises of the different arguments are different. The arguments are like roads, from different starting points, all aiming at the same goal of God. In subsequent essays we will explore the arguments from cause and effect, from conscience, from history, and from Pascal's Wager. The next essay explores the Argument from Design.

HI AiW! I have no statement to disprove my belief. If I did, I wouldn't be an Atheist.

I'd rather not label myself as open minded, same goes for the odd title of the close minded.I am just floating around nameless, looking to give and receive advice and concepts.

Yes.

Since I know of a certainty that there is a God, and that the Bible correctly presents His truth, there is no argument that can be made that would convince me otherwise.
