1 PEG of liqour is 60milllilitres. Half a peg is 30 ml.
And it is not only called that in India, but in many places

In most hotels etc. in bar rooms, liquor is being given by measuring in the following way :
Large peg = 60 ml.
Small peg = 30 ml.
But in various clubs, it is different as following :
Large peg = 50 ml.
Small peg = 25 ml.
But in villages of Punjab, a peg is not taken in mls. measurement. It can be of 100 ml. or even full of glass and neat without water and is called " Patiala Peg "
