A foster home? That's not another word for the pound, right?

Well, at least feel lucky that your cat hasn't died. I had three cats in the past (not all at once!) and they died when I hadn't even had them a year because they got out at night and were snatched up by coyotes or owls. I got increasingly depressed as each one died. I felt like I never wanted to have another cat again! My mom ended up adopting another one.... this is cat number 4 for me and I'm going to make sure she NEVER gets outside because I'm so devastated after what happened to my other ones....

It's amazing how emotionally attached people can get to their animals. I know you must miss her. I think the only cure for this type of thing is time.

If your family has been in the house for a year already why haven't you gotten your cat back yet? Maybe your folks don't really want the cat back. If I was in your situation I would sit down with the family and discuss the reasons why the cat is still in a foster home. Unless you are in an apartment where pets are not allowed you and your cat should be together. Talk to your family.

I had to give my cat to the Cats Protection League a few years ago as well, because she was very destructive and needed proper care from an expert. I was distraught at first, but I realised it was for the better, as she would be in a place with other cats and would probably be looked after just as well as we looked after her. I was upset for months but as time goes on you just have to try and forget about it, and why not just think about when you wll get her back- focus on the positives of the situation.

Try to abode a cat and try to take care of it like u did with ur other cat. Although its not the same cat i hope it can help u. I know, its hard to erase especially the good memories you have but remember this life must go on and u cant go back. All we can do now is go forward.

your cat wouldn't want you to be sad, I'm sure she misses you too. think of all the good times you had together and keep you mind on getting her back. knowing that you're going to get her back should help. I had my dog put to sleep 12 days before Christmas last year and it was sooo hard. it's hard this year not having her for the holidays, I'd give anything to have her back, so concentrate on that, and be happy you'll get to see her again.

I understand completely how you are feeling. I recently had to rehome my 7 ferrets because my husband and I travel a lot and we it was getting diffcult to get them adequate care while we were away. Be comforted by the knowledge that you have made the right choice for the cat. You have done what is best for her and that is the best any pet owner can do if they love and animal. I hope you get her back soon.

Okay I don't get this.So when are you planning on getting her back? Are you for sure?If your not sure why don't you adopt another kitten. There are so many little kitties out there that need homes. You got all this love to give and no kitty to give it to.Good luck getting her back!

i know the feeling, we did that too when we're about to move out i had to let her stay there in our previous house.. i think cats can be more loyal to the place they knew from the beginning.. maybe at time you have the goal of getting her back, its nice..

That's horrible! Are you allowed to visit? If you are, GO! She misses you as much as you miss her I'm sure.
