I've just always been the curious type about certain things and the Jews are so sanctified and keep to themselves most times,so I just always wondered about their worship. Anyone know????

Do you know anyone who is?
I suggest that you research the religion a little bit so you will at least be conversant in it when you do attend a service..

There is a Afro centric Jewish congregation in Chicago.

They are not to be confused with the the Black Hebrew Israelites but instead Blacks who have converted to Judaism.

I also know two or three Blacks who married Jews and converted to Judaism.

My advice is to befriend someone who is and have them to invite you to one of their services.

Or after doing some research you could approach a synagogue and ask if they ever have a open house for those who may be curious about their form of worship.

I'll admit to being remotely curious about their worship service but I doubt that I will ever attend one.

You better read up before you just show up at a synagogue. You wouldn't want to offend or make an etiquette blunder. I went to a church where some messianic Jewish people held service. The service was done in Hebrew and English. The guys in the church still wore the traditional head covering on their heads.

Mark had such a nice write up here---till the last line about Jews turning to Jesus. Do not count on it. I went the other way-from Christianity to Judaism.

Go to a synagogue to visit. Go to a Reform or Conservative service, tho. The Orthodox may be too traditional for you to understand.

And, do not go to a Messianic service-they are Christians, not Jews. You will not have any idea of what a Jewish service is, if you go there.

And, they all have great food after the services--no matter where you go.

I have been to a Messianic service. It was great. There were some things said in Hebrew but most of it was in English. I guess that would depend on where the Synagogue was and if the people were strict Hasidic`or Rabenical Jews

Yes I am Jewish, First we do not have churches you call them temples or synagues. If You go to a Conservative or Reformed Temple part of the service is in Hebrew but most will be in English. Anyone who lives a good life, obeys the 10 Commandments and uses the Golden Rule is sanctified. Good luck and I am sure you will enjoy it.

I would like to attend a Jewish service too. However, I don't want to intrude or seem like I'm gawking like a tourist.

I'd also like to attend an Islamic service, and Hindu, and Shinto. Heck, I would like to attend just about any kind of religious ritual other than the ones I've been to. Actually, although I was raised Catholic, I've never observed an actual, for real High Mass - all in Latin and stuff. I'd like to see that too. At least that one I could probably get into legitimately.

It might take you awhile to find a Jewish Church - but who knows.

Depending on the branch you attend it could be partially or completely in hebrew. But there are usually a lot of singing so you can get the basic flavor. Try to find a Reformed Temple. They are more liberal, more English and more modern. They also have good snacks after the service.

No, I've also ALWAYS wanted to visit the synagogue, but unfortunately didn't have the chance to go! So as for what their services are like, I have no idea! Sorry!

I think the word you're looking for is Synagogue, not Jewish Church.

I've always wanted to attend a Messianic Jewish service. In fact, if I felt comfortable there (if I ever get there) I might convert.
