Is anyone or has anyone here been a member of the secret service? If so, i would really appreciate any information about your experiences and if you would recommend it as a career. I have recently seen an advertisement for agents and was considering applying. Thank you for your help!

Joey is right. The Secret Service, though it was transferred under DHS from the Treasury, does indeed hunt down counterfeiters and do stings. A VERY small amount of SS agents actually get onto protection detail, and a VERY small, exclusive group gets onto First Family detail. You'll most likely have to start off busting counterfeiters, until your reputation precedes you. If you're good enough to jump right onto protection detail, then don't worry, they'll find you.

Use the above link, and search the internet for information. And don't expect to ask a protectorate what it's like to do his/her job... The Secret Service does not comment on procedures.

You do understand that you'll probably be tracking down currency and stamp counterfeiting as opposed to do all the neat presidential stuff, correct?
