hi spud...

while this may not be the exact formula for formby's refinisher, most clear finishes (varnish, lacquer & shellac) can be removed with a blend of solvents consisting of equal parts of lacquer thinner and denatured alcohol...for more chemically resistant coatings (polyurethane, pre-cat lacquers) add an equal component of acetone...apply in the same manner as formby's - and be sure to provide plenty of ventilation and keep the tylenol handy 'cause you can get quite a buzz from these fumes...

good luck

Of course the longer she does this the better she is at it. I have some furniture that I would love to have a person with this much experience to strip and refinish for me.
