I tagged another car two weaks ago. The officer thought me hit and skip, asked me to inform my insurance company and filed the police report. The judge asked me to pay the damage of the other car. However, my insurance company hasn't gotten any call from the other party. I was a little confused. Will the police leave the notice on his car since he is not at scene? If not, can I contact him directly? I just got the police report

The police normally leave a case card under the windshield wiper of the car that was hit.

It tells them to call a number to get a copy of the police report.

Your insurance company should be contacting them,

The other party not showing in court is only going to take care of the traffic citation of the issue. Just because you didn't get fined in traffic court does not mean that the other party won't still take you to civil court for the damages.
