What Do They Believe?

EARTH . . . created by Jehovah . . . cared for by man . . . inhabited forever

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES believe in Almighty God, Jehovah, Creator of the heavens and the earth.

Hence, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the earth will remain forever and that all people, living and dead, who will fit in with Jehovah's purpose for a beautified, inhabited earth may live on it forever. All mankind inherited imperfection from Adam and Eve and, hence, are sinners. (Romans 5:12) The Bible tells us: "The wages sin pays is death." "The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all." "The soul that is sinning—it itself will die." (Romans 6:23; Ecclesiastes 9:5; Ezekiel 18:4, 20) Then how can they live again to share in the earthly blessings? Only through the ransom sacrifice of Christ Jesus, for he said: "I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." "All those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."—John 5:28, 29; 11:25; Matthew 20:28.

The best example would be to look at the early Christian congregations. They were not places of worship, but of learning. People were taught, as a whole, to go out and preach and teach. They relied on the teachings of an individual who was thought to be an uneducated, itinerant preacher who was crucified for cause by the ruling government that he refused to pledge any allegiance to. He also didn't honor any of the traditional holidays and observances, except the Passover and wedding anniversaries.

The exact same things said about the witnesses were said about the first Christians. But, the Christians began falling away from the teachings of Christ, as Paul stated in his writings.

The question to ask yourself is whether three truly means perfection?

The Jews were the first of God's People, but they began falling away, as prophesied. Finally, despite the fulfillment of prophesy, they denied Christ as the Messiah, because he didn't bring on Armageddon and the destruction of false religion. The great curtain covering the Most Holy of the Temple tore open to show the Holy Spirit no longer resided in Israel. Prior to that, even to see inside it, for anyone except the High Priest, meant instant death.

Christians became the second of God's People, but as prophesied, they soon began falling away. Now, if you believe the signs of the second coming of Christ are being fulfilled, then you may want to buy an Interlinear Greek Translation of the New Testament and look up the word used to mean "coming". Now, look up the word "PRESENCE" everywhere else in the New Testament. You will find that it is the same Greek word being translated as "COMING" really means "PRESENCE". So, if the signs are being fulfilled, than Christ has already returned, and all but JWs have missed it. History repeats itself.

Now, are JWs the third (perfect) form of God's People, or (new) Israelites? If not, who is? Can't be just any other religion. It can't be the present day Israelites, as they have not accepted the second coming of the Messiah, let alone the first. Like the beginning of the Israelites, as well as the beginning of the Christians, they were a small group, saying "we are God's People" and all others are wrong. They were right, not who is right a third time? Is it the Mormons, the Amish, or some other small group, compared to the whole of Christendom? Is it your specific religion, and none of the others?

Next May, there is a PBS special on the JWs, you might want to watch it.

They are a worldwide Christian society of people who actively bear witness regarding Jehovah God and his purposes affecting mankind. They base their beliefs solely on the Bible.
They worship Jehovah as the only true God and speak freely to others about him. They believe, not that Jesus Christ is part of a Trinity, but that,as the Bible says,he is the Son of God.
They believe that 144000 spirit anointed Christians will share with Christ in his heavenly kingdom, ruling as kings with him.And that God's original purpose for the earth will be fulfilled and that faithful worshipers will be able to enjoy eternal life in human perfection on it;that the dead will be raised to an opportunity to share in these blessings.
They believe that the dead are conscious of absolutely nothing;that they do not exist except in God's memory,so hope for their future life lies in a resurrection from the dead.
They believe that we are living now, since 1914 in the last days of this wicked system of things.
They earnestly endeavor to be no part of the world,as Jesus said would be true of his followers. They shun the world's avid pursuit of material things and personal fame and its excessive indulgence in pleasure.
They believe that it is important to apply the cousel of God's Word in everyday life.
These are briefly stated some outstanding beliefs of Jehovahs Witnesses. If you are interested in learning more, visit your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. They would be only too happy to answer any questions you might have. They would even conduct a free home bible study with you,if you so desired.

That is a very broad question that is sure to get a bunch of people who don't know anything about Jehovah's Witnesses answering you. If you want to know, find them in the phone book, go to one of their meetings, or invite them in when they knock on your door.

Jehova's Witnesses (The watchtower bible and tract society) teach that Jesus was created as Archangel Michael/lesser God; became only a good man, died, ceased to exist, recreated as Michael again in heaven. They deny the Trinity and say that Jesus was not God.
