honey is good for you
Used since ancient times, honey is a natural source of a wide range of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and natural energy. And today, medical researchers are confirming what previous generations have always known—having honey in your diet can help you stay healthy and fight disease.
Natural source of vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids
Honey comes from natural plant nectars and contains vitamin B6, thiamin, niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid and certain amino acids. It also is a source of essential minerals including calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc. While the amounts are in trace levels and will vary depending on the floral source, honey can be an important and delicious part of a healthy diet.

Yes absolutely in some cases. First, never before 12 months of age...for anyone out there who might want to give it to kids. Second, if you have a ton of allergies, if you take 1 tsp per day of LOCAL honey, you can overcome your allergies after a while. It's still a sugar. I would start calorie counting, but if you're running 3 miles today, that's great! I really don't think 2 tsp is going to make you gain any weight...but I wouldn't make it an every day all day thing. I would opt for splenda or some other artificial sweetener, depending on what you're trying to eat or make.

Yes, as long as you buy the right kind. The kind in the bear shaped container at the grocery store....wrong kind. Straight from a beekeeper....right kind. In it's purest, natural form it is great for you. My kids started on honey from the time they were on table foods. It's straight from nature unlike the other sweetners. Look at it this way, if a lab study were done, this would not cause cancer in lab animals. Which would you prefer to take your chance on? Those who truly truly want to be healthy....will avoid sweetners created or altered by man. Stick with what nature provided or deal with the consequences health wise which are various diseases and cancers.

Honey is actually low in calories. But it contains a lot of sugar which is not good. There are better choices, like dark chocolate.

I have honey a few times a week, and I think it's fine.Artificial sweeteners are just awful for you.You should avoid those, for the most part.A little bit of honey is even better than sugar, which is better than sweetener.

I don't think you'll gain weight - you did a lot of exercise.
Treat honey the same as sugar and you won't go far wrong.
