how did you come to know and believe in Jesus Christ as the Messiah?

What has your life been like since your conversion?

How do you think that I, as a Christian but not a Jew, should or could incorporate the Jewish religion into my own life?

Ok, so three questions. I'm looking for serious answers only please. Thank you in advance.

I'm not a Jew. I'm not calling myself a Jew. I am wanting to learn more about the Jewish religion since that is what my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ is - a Jew.

Devora...the Bible explains the trinity as the great three-in-one - the Godhead. Your prayer would not disqualify that belief of one true God by believing in Jesus Christ as part of the Godhead.

Robert K....Jesus Christ called Himself a Jew. I don't think I'll ever be more Christian than Jesus Christ. Don't you think they should go hand in hand? Becoming a Christian seems to me the "completing" of the Jewish faith if you will.

I am not a Jew but I spent a year in Israel and worshipped with Messianic Jews and have friends among them. I've been to Messianic Jewish churches in England too. I know how they think.

Most of the answers above are inaccurate.

In Israel there are many Christians like you who want to respect and adopt the Jewish tradition. I warn you strongly against it.

Read Galatians and Acts 15. The early Church had to square up to the issue of whether or not gentiles should obey the Torah, and came down firmly against it. It leads to re-enslavement, this time to the Law, which Christ died to set us free from. We do His will by the help of the Holy Spirit, not by attempting to keep the Law, which we will fail at anyway.

The Christians I've met, mostly in Israel, who start to dabble with Judaism begin by worshipping on Shabbat (Sabbath), keeping the Jewish festivals and using Hebrew terminology. Many become more and more influenced until they believe we have to obey all 613 commandments in Leviticus. There are even extreme cases who ditch Jesus altogether. I knew a New Zealander in Jerusalem who had been baptised in the Spirit and spoken in tongues for 15 years or so. He became convinced that Judaism was correct and that Jesus was a deceiver and, in fact, (God forgive me for repeating this) that He was Satan.

BEWARE!

Pamela, congratulations on a great question. I am not a Messianic Jew but I am Jewish. Literally, there are no Messianics. I am not against Jesus when I mwrite this. Personally, I respect and honor the great influence towards good He has done for the world/ A Jew For Jesus can NOT be a Jew. Why? If you accept Jesus then you MUST accept the Trinity which is 3 Gods, The main prayer of Juiasm translated is "Hear Oh Israel the Lord our God, the Lord is one." tRINITY IS 3 OUR MAIN PRAYER IS 1 gOD Three minus one is 2 which are two too many. IOn a personal note, i HAVE NEVER KNOWN A jEWISH PERSON WHO HAS EVER SAID A BAD THING REGARDING JESUS. AVE AN AWESOME DAY BEST WISHES FOR A MERRY XMAS DK

my question for them is why do you call yourself a jew...you cant be a jew and a christian...and you cant stand in the gray area...pick one side or the other
_______________

Jesus was a jew yes and you believing in him you are a christian...dont be so defensive :) If you want to learn about judaism read the OT...my point was simply that their is no such thing as a messianic jew...they are christian and believe in the death and ressurection of our lord or they are a jew and deny him

hey david...do you read before you write...where did i call her a jew i just made an observation...where did this come from?

YOUCANT BE A JEW AND A CHRISTIAN...JEWS BY DEFINITION BELIEVE THE MESSIAH HAS NOT COME...IF YOU ARE A JEW THAT BELIEVES IN CHRIST AS THE MESSIAH YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN! THIS IS REALLY IS NOT HARD CONCEPT TO FOLLOW AND I AM HAVING PROBLEMS SEEING HOW OTHER CHRISTIANS DO NOT SEE THIS.

thats well put...im not arguing with you. Christ was the fullfillment of the jewish law..or as you put it the fullfillemtn of the jewish faith. Many jews do not accept that Christ was the messiah in that they deny him and reamin to claim to the OT torah and the judaic laws. If they do see that Christ is the messiah and accept him they become born again...christians. my point is to say that there are messianic jews is the same as saing messianic budhis or muslims....to accept christ is to have apersoanl relationship with jesus christ, after all christian means christ in me. this is the only point i was trying to make and i think somehow it got way off track...sorry

Pamela, AWESOME question....this same thing is on my heart and I am confused/excited about it.

I have been considering attending a messianic Jewish synagogue to see how it is. I have a very strong desire to keep the feasts as Jesus did...properly and in the Jewsih tradition, and not changing them at all.

Looking 4ward to these answers.
David

EDIT: Pamela, I know there is such things as Messianic Jews. Sounds like Jews (and maybe Christians) don't accept them, but I know they exist and have a synagogue. They keep the Jewish religion and have accepted Christ.

I'm not a Jew by birth either, but , the answers to your questions are in your Bible, the whole Bible. Paul said to the Corinthians that gentiles were to refrain from eating food offered to idols, abstain from fornication, pray, go to synagogue(church,) and keep the commandments.

brianinchina2003, your comment is just ridiculous (no intentions to offend).

Beware of Judaism? Beware of Messianic Jews, I say!
There is NO such thing as a Christian-Jew. Judaism in its essence opposes the concept of Jesus Christ. You simply cannot combine the two religions.

Want to be Christian? Good for you love.
Want to be a Christian who learns about Judaism? Acceptable.
Want to be Jewish? Convert, than.
You cannot be both.
