The love of money is the root of all evil. The point is to make money your servant and not your master. The other way to look at it is to love people and use money and not love money and use people.

First of all I am not Christian and I know the answer, Jesus said that the love of money is the root of all evil. I have a question for you and I am really unfair as I know the answer, "Everytime you see a fat person eating fast food How do you know that they are Christian?"" It is possible that they are Hindu or Jewish or Muslim too. How do you have the nerve to generalize? I went to McDonalds a few days ago and met my Christian neighbor there and he is Christian and quess what he is thin like a stick.

Another mis-quote. (see the quote in the sources below).
It is the love of money that has caused people to wander from the faith.
Another example of a slam against an identifiable group.
This bla-bla-blah does get tiresome.
None of these groups has a statistical correlation with obesity.
It is more likely that you are in denial of your own weight problems.
Money is really a token representing the favors you have done for someone else.
That way you don't have to barter your goods and services, for what you need, with someone who really isn't interested in your wares.
The problems start when people get addicted to gaining favors, or wanting favors from others.
Sometimes the negotiations become one sided, as in the case of coersion, trickery, or using political or legal tactics to gain an unfair advantage, so your favors become unrealistically of more value than the favors you receive in return.
It can get to be an addictive game, or a very serious and destructive game, which is the root of evil. If politicians play this game, it can start wars!!!

As many responders have correctly pointed out, the Bible actually says that it's the "love of money" and not money itself that is the root of all evil. There's nothing wrong with money, per se. God knows that we need money to live. He also gives us money so we'll share with others who are in need. But the Bible also says that "We can't serve God and mammon (money), for" if we try, "either we will love the one (God) and hate the other (money) or hate the one (God) and hold to the other (money)," because "No man can serve two masters." So we definitely don't want to let money be our master. We want to use our money for the glory of God, our true Master. It is unfortunately true that many in America have the love of money, but the majority of these greedy individuals are not Christians!

For practicing Buddhism, you are really offensive.
All humans, with the exception of Jesus, are imperfect. Being Christian (or anything else for that matter) isn't a one time, cross the line, and you are done sort of deal. It is something that must be practiced and worked on each day.
Sadly, many are taken off track, easily lost in the quick pleasures of the life surrounding them. Most are probably off track, serving themselves first instead of God.

The root of evil is neither the money nor the love of money. The root of all evil is our unlimited desires or wants and money is only a tool to go for it.

Its said that LOVE OF MONEY is the root of all evil. Not money itself. If one worships money more than anything, it will consume him, and eventually evil will come from that. People that kill for money, steal, cause harm etc. They have a 'love' of money.

Money is not the root of all evil. The Bible states "the love of" money is the evil. You need to read your Bible more carefully. Thank you.

to answer your question money is not evil the LOVE of money is evil - it then becomes an idol in life and is put above God, which breas the Commandments -
my question to you is why do you have to insult people to ask a question -
I'll be praying that you are truly blessed,
