It's not true that any memory card will work. The Kodak Easyshare uses an SD card so make sure you get that one. There are lots of different memory cards (XD, Compact Flash, Micro Cruzer, etc.) and you don't want to get them confused.

Most any memory card would work. Go to a local store, like Target or Walmart, and ask about cameras and memory cards. They will help you in the right direction for what you need. Walmart was very helpful when I went camera shopping. Best Buy only showed me 2 expensive cameras even though I said I was on a budget.

The digital camera is essentially a computer-based device, whose core is controlled by the computer. And as a result the photographs are stored in a location called memory.
examples of types of digital camera memory are Compact Flash Digital Camera Memory. It is suitable for rugged and rough handling and is also resilient for incessant usage. This is also small in size to assist better handling and flexibility. What more, it is cheap and anyone can afford it!
Generally, the sizes of a digital camera memory are as follows, 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB, and 1 GIG. Again, the digital camera memory depends upon the file format used to store photographs upon and the compression used by the manufacturer when storing digital images into memory.

even new models of same brand can take a different memory card my new Nikon D-80 takes a SD memory card earlier models used different cards so just to be sure consult the manual for your camera..even the side of the box will indicate the correct memory card type...
