I have athlete s foot on my hands. Yes, you can get it on your hands, if you have it on your feet and contract it from there. It is contagious, so it can spread to other parts of your body, if you are not careful in cleaning your hands after touching those affected areas.

Well back to the question. My hands were itching so bad between my fingers, and I decided to run my hands under scalding hot water, as hot as I could stand it. It relieved that nasty itch immediately, and it hasn t come back at all in the last 20 minutes. I was hoping scalding hot water would kill the fungus. But if it doesn t, at least I found a way to stop the itch temporarily. Anything I can do to keep me from scratching this, which I figure can only make it worse, is beneficial. Irritating the skin further and breaking the skin more by scratching it will only make the athlete s foot on my hands worse.

The boiling water numbs out the itch temporarily; problem is, the itch will come back as soon as your feet dry out.
Unfortunately, by sticking your feet into boiling water, you're not only scalding your feet, but laying your feet wide open for some massive bacterial infections down the line.
Your best bet is to bathe your feet with warm water & a mild soap, then use an anti-fungal ointment or spray regularly to help get rid of the athelete's foot.
Don't trade temporary relief for real care---please!
