BTW we are not talking just low skilled jobs. I compete (very well) with H1B visa holders everyday. Every IT dept in the nation is infiltrated with mostly middle eastern developers. I know lots of US people with similar skills on hotjobs out of steady work since the dot com bust. My position is if the skills arent here (B.S.!) then train our own workers rather than send our tech knowledge elsewhere. And my hubb cant find a well paying construction job for the illegal mexican workers that hire on as a "crew". Why we dont hold our general contractors to the law I'll never know.

What planet are you from ?? Sorry but I can't believe that you do not know that "they" accept lower wages. Plus some foreign people are harder workers than an American counter part. With the UNIONs and the "that's not my table" or "I am on a break" attitude. I am ashamed to see some of my people so lazy and stupid while working. Every time I see janitors go on strike I just hang my head down in shame that there is a union that protects this job. - Well welcome to the USA.

We can do much better - but we don't.

Wages in the USA were higher than a lot of other countries. We started low and gradually worked to get a higher wage. Businesses figured out that people, from countries where the wages were lower, were willing to come here and work for lower wages than the Americans had been working for, yet those wages were higher than what they were accustomed to in their country. Lower than what Americans were accustomed to. So, of course those businesses will hire those people who accept the lower wage. It is not fair to the Americans to compete with people from other countries where the wage is so drastically different. Why should Americans compete with a third world wage? We are not a third world? (yet) We will be, if our country continues to allow SO MANY immigrants to come here and cause our wages to be depressed, legal immigrants AND illegal immigrants.

That is another reason to REDUCE ALL immigration. Deport illegals, close the border to stop the illegal flow OF them, control legal immigration and reduce it drastically.

Report, Deport, Escort to the Border

No more anchor babies (at least one parent MUST be a legal citizen)

NO amnesty~illegal is illegal, against the law, it is a crime

No exceptions.

Our country gave us 'minimum wage'
Our country passed laws on workplace safety (OSHA)
Our country passed laws on 'workmans compensation'
Our country GAVE us holidays
Our employers gave us vacations
Our employers gave us raises and bonuses
Our employers gave us attractive insurance packages
Our employers gave us 401k

Then they stabbed us in the back because we grew accustomed to that quality of life, laid us off, permanently, and hired immigrants, some illegal.

Anywhere WE go to get a job won't hire us. They have immigrants and illegals there, too. If they do hire us it's for half what we once made. Wages have plummeted, taxes have skyrocketed and health care doesn't exist for us. We no longer have 401k, health or life insurance, etc. THOSE are the things we had worked for all our lives. We were robbed of OUR quality of life.

Any business needs to make money in order to be able to stay in business. People have gotten so cheap about what they will pay for a product or service that the only way a business can make money these days is to outsorce the work to third world countries. Help turn this around by buying product made in your country dispite the higher price.

Lack of Skilled workers in certain industries, and companies contact congress to adjust the amount of visas needed. Companies will hire overseas if they cant find American with certain skills to perform the job. If it was for skilled workers coming into America, Goggle, and other sreach engines would not exist. Its not all about getting workers cheaper, and you limit immigration their be more of a incentive to outsource since why pay $60,000 for a computer programmer when can get one in India for $10,000, and bringing in skilled workers saves jobs that would of been outscored.

Foreign born workers work for less money, and are happy to have a job. They will seldom ask for a raise in wages, because their income is usually more than what they would be earning in their own country. They will not file a law suit against the company for just anything, because it is not a common practice in other countries to be litigation-happy like here in the US. Most Third-World workforce (India, Pakistan, Africa etc.) is more obedient, and also take more abuse, like 12 hour work days, without complaining about it.
Now you ask how do I know that? My spouse is a computer programmer/developer, and working for a large company. He was born in a Third-World country, but is now a naturalized US citizen.

Is it perhaps that every able American wants the VP chair instead of working for a living?
I am been a little sarcastic here, but most people do not wish to supplement their government given income by taking "lower paying jobs"

Because they can hire them for alot cheaper which puts more profit into the executives pockets. It's all about money. They don't care about America as long as they're getting rich.

USA companies or companies that just happen to do business in the USA?

Well, the 'official' reason is lower wages, because employing USA workers require many legal obligations, like minimum wage, compensation, minimum age, obeying the unions, and so on.

In other words, the same rules that 'officially' supposed to help the workers become a hinderance in employing them. Instead of helping them, these rules caused them to be unemployed.

But personally, I think that they hired foreign workers just for the sake of making people mad.

I suggest people to become self employed, or reject any of the rules to 'help workers'.

because the majority of foreigners have a lower standard of living and they will work cheaper. Fact.

Our government has sold us out...and the corporations have too. Fact.
