What do I do when I get off the plane? I will be going to Auckland New Zealand and would like some sort of idea what to do when I get there. I can not find a map of where to go. Can someone who has been there tell me what I need to do and in what order I need to do it. Also I will have someone waiting there for me. Where will he be waiting at. The map of the airport is not very clear.

psycmixer thanks but i looked at that and I don't understand that map. Plus it does not tell me where to go and what I need to do when I get off the plane. You must realize I have never flown before so I am not sure what I am supposed to be doing at all. If someone could please tell me where I am supposed to go and what I need to do before I can leave the airport.

babydove, relax, it all works like clockwork! you cannot take a wrong turn in the back transit rooms or destination corridors of a modern international airport, and akl is no different. if you know what they look like (and vice-versa), there is only ONE SET of doors that you will exit into the public waiting area. You will be visable for a few seconds before you exit on CCTV too,if your friend is watching. If you cant see them, stand there for a minute or two, its a busy place. Alternatively, I suggest telling them that youy will be next to the Avis stand (easy to find anywhere!) Otherwise, call their mobile phone from the nearest coinphone.

And as a sidenote, if you are afraid or anything, a valium to calm or a sleeper to knock u out, they work for me anyway. Speak with your doc or pharmacist. If you are coming from a long way, I use sleepers every trip.

Usually in every airport there is a Meeting Point. But if Auckland's airport has none (I have no information) than decide on meeting near the rental car agencies, near the information, or the best is
you friend has a sign with your name and stands near the gate where you come out, many do that.
