yes, but only at a target. hitting a human is assault and battery. hitting a dog or cat is curelty to animals. an airsoft can break a window. an airsoft also looks close enough like a real gun that a nervous cop might shoot you. keep it in the back yard.

Yes but not at people who dont know they are gonna be shot by you. An airsoft gun can not break a window but a bb gun can. An airsoft gun is only spring loaded. A bb gun uses air to project the bb's. Put orange tape around the tip of the gun so cops know it's not real.

Last year a kid who thought it would be funny to shoot at people with an airsoft gun got shot and killed by a man with a legal concealed weapon. Apparently the man saw the kid pull the gun and aim at someone, the man took a shot and dropped the kid like a bad habit.

at a target yes, at willing targets yes, but only on private property with expressed permission of the owner (this law w/ airsoft is more or less universal in the united states)
i do remember seeing some restrictions on airsoft guns in parts of texas, i'd suggest checking with your local police station just to be safe. airsoft guns should be treated the same way you would treat a paintball gun, the same rules apply. just don't be stupid and you should be fine
