This is a bit stupid, almost pointless, but, one night me & my father got into a big fight. I had back-talked my mother and he was in rage. He had his hand raised, so, I suppose my reaction was to run. I was near the fireplace, then, he gave me a good shove and pushed me into it, I had some of my flesh torn by the brick, and some nasty bruises.
I understand is any of you believed I deserved it for back talking. But, I was just wondering if this was wrong of him in any way?

What he did was physically abuse you. You could have been hurt worse than you were.

It isn't good to back talk to your mother.
But we all do it, no matter what age we are. And that is a horrible reason to shove someone into a fireplace.
That is abuse. And since you have bruises and flesh torn, you could report that. It was wrong.
I mean, when I back talk to my mom we both just kinda get over it and go back to being cool and nice with each other.
But shoving you into a fireplace?
That's just not normal.
So, yes, it was wrong of him, yes, you can report it, if you want to.

Like you he was upset. His reaction was to protect your mom and that's what he did. You should respect your mother and you should go to them both an apologize to them for the way you acted. I don't think he should have pushed you into the fireplace but I don't think he was thinking about the fireplace being there anyway. He was protecting your mom because he loves her and he respects her.

You were wrong to talk back to your mother. You need to remember without your parents there would be no you! Sometimes you just need to swallow it and go out and work off the frustration. However, your father was wrong to shove you. I'm sure that he feels bad about it. So apologize to your mom, let your dad know that you have done so and tell him that you forgive him for his outburst.

Do you think it was wrong? You know you shouldn't have back talked your mom, but he shouldn't have hit you for it either.
So, now it's my turn... What are you planning on doing about it? You can't be ugly to him. You can't hit him or shove him into the fireplace. What's next?

Yes it was a bit wrong of him. He should have made sure there wasn't anything around like the fireplace for you to get hurt like that on.

You shouldn't disrespect your mother first off. Appologize to her. Your dad however was wrong! Hitting or violence doesn't teach a child anything but that it is ok. Not sure how old you are but if he ever hits you again, talk to your mother and if she won't do anything, talk to a teacher, if in school, or a priest. Your father needs some counceling.

you're kidding, right? nothing that could come out of your mouth, nothing, I don't care if you were swearing at your mom, could make this okay. no words make it okay for a parent to hit their child. I don;t know how much good it would do you to report this, since the legal system is so jacked up right now, but never, ever feel like you deserve that kind of thing.

You deffinately did not deserve it. Your father should not hurt you in anyway, even if he says he didn't mean to. He should seek parental advice to see how to deal with minor mishaps. It is sad that you have to go through this, b/c he is family and family should love eachother, not...

I think that it is wrong to bring a person to the point of violent anger more than it is for the angered person's reactions.
If you ask for it, you get it! Know when to say when!
