Would a flat iron that goes up to 450 f make highlights fade away or loose their color quickly?

With an iron that gets that hot, I would not worry about the color but worry about frying your hair. Blow dryers are less damaging than hot irons. and if your hair is fried and damage, it won't matter wht color your hair is, because it will look very bad.

NO! The only way it will take away the color is if you melt your hair by burning it. Washing it too much will cause it to fade quicker. Losing color is normal though and you will need it colored again in 4-6 weeks ....if you want to keep it fresh looking.

It really depends on how often you shampoo,and what you use to nourish your hair.You definitly need to use some kind of heat protection product, and turn that iron down a little if you can.

yes. with that kinda of heat it will degrade the molecules of the dye. therefore fading
