Ive never heard of a child not getting enough sugar in their diets, most children get too much sugar in their diets, cookies and candies should be a once in a while treat, try some natural things with natural sugars, like fruit and small amounts of juice, sugars and sweets are horrible for childrens and adults teeth, and cause many children to be hyper.
Anyone who would tell you your children need more sugar especially if its your doctor, I would definitely find a new doctor.
My son doesnt get but a very very small amount of refined sugars in his diet and he is much healthier and happier than ever.

well personally i would love it, but!! sugar, such as found in cookies isnt always good, in australia, the goverment is trying to ban substances found in many cookies, due to increasing heart problems. Therefore, eating more cookies for the sake of the sugar might not be the best idea, the artical might possiby be talking baout other sugars such as the ones found in banana's and other fresh fruits.

You should sight the report you're talking about here, so we can refute it.
Cookies containing less sugar can be a good alternative to bread, pasta, cereal if you have a picky or very young eater.
Peanut butter cookies (homemade), yogourt, and apple juice for breakfast ?

Oh yes, American kids are in urgent need of yet more empty calories.
Schoolt's idea is great "How about setting a 5 lb. sack of sugar on the table and have them dig in."
They could wash the bag of sugar down with a couple of gallons of Coca-cola.

right. i don't think so ace. if you're a typical american, you are trying to yank some chains, as sugar IS NOT a necessary nutrient in the average american diet. (used to be a nursing student, one of the things we had to study was nutrition!) give your children more fruit instead! and if you eat a lot of fast or prepared foods you're already ingesting more sugar than you need in the form of high -fructose corn syrup!

Do most of the answerers really think you mean it? I threw up all night and I'm just mentally exhausted today and answers like these to a highly humorous question are the main reason B0FF0 and B0FF0's employees don't ask very many questions at all any more...*urp* ...slinks off to find the baking soda....

You know, the pilgrims did JUST FINE without cookies or even pumpkin pie at every meal. OK, so a lot of them died, but very few of them died of heart attacks, diabetes or stroke.
