Not one of my proudest questions, but here we go. I came home and went to the bathroom and when I wiped, I noticed a little bit of blood on the toilet paper. Is such a small amout anything to worry about? This happened once when I was 12 I think. I am a 18 year old female.

It could be that you have a tear.....are you constipated? Try drinking more water

It could be a sign of hemorrhoids

It could also be a sign of colon cancer. Check out www.wrongdiagnosis.com It gives you a list of symptoms etc. to help you better figure it out.

I would say see a doctor if you're truly concerned

If this is the first time it's happened, aside from when you were 12, it's likely nothing to worry about, but keep an eye on it. If you continue to have bloody stools (even just a trace of blood) go see your doctor. This is one of the first signs of colon polyps and if that's what's happening, you want to have them dealt with while they are still benign.

Red blood is usually an indication of bleeding in the anus area, most likely hemorrhoids or small fission.
The more serious indication of occult blood within the intestines would be if your stool was dark/black. But local bleeding is usually not serious unless it bleeds continuously and give you pain.

yep a gross subject,, sometimes if you are constipated (you might not realize it) and have rock hard poops or have eaten something crunchy like nuts etc.. It can scratch or make tiny tears in the surrounding tissues.. .. Like the other poster says.. check the poop in the toilet.. it might not be the poo, it might just be your skin.. If it gets worse or you feel bad, see a doctor.

I am not really qualified to answer, but this happens to me occasionally, it might just be normal. Did you really push hard as you were having a "bowel movement"? That could have something to do with it.

Of course go to a dr. If its new, red then it may be a tear. If its old dark, blackish, could be serious.
