I’m single (divorced) w/2 teens & have a new neighbor I’d love to meet & possibly date. I haven’t dated (or even flirted) in so long, I feel as though I don’t know where to start. I don’t want to seem forward or cheap, since he is my neighbor and I don't want to make him feel uncomfortable.

Well did you welcome him to the neighborhood yet? You can usually do that by baking brownies or something. It may sound corney and I didn't know people actually did things like that but my neighbors rang my doorbell w/ cookies in hand to welcome me and since then we have always greet one another and/or have small conversations, so that would be a way of getting a conversation started and from there have an open mind and you never know where a conversation may lead you one day.........

It probably is not a good idea to date a neighbor ...but if he is really arrestable bring some food over. Say something that you made more than you and your family could eat. Say whereas you noticed he was single you thought you would save him from cooking a dinner for himself. Be friendly but don't go to fast. Make a friend first so you don;t jump into a heated relationship, find out you don't like him. You will still have to live next to him.

Next time you see him getting his mail or something just say hello. That's a good start, find out whether he has a girlfriend/wife before you get any idea's though you don't won't to be the other woman !! As he is your neighbour you want to take things easy, remember you have to live next door to him. You will not seem forward or cheap just for being a friendly neighbour. Take it from there and see what happens. You will soon find out if he is keen or not. Good luck

If your neighbor is single too, then there is nothing wrong. Subtly you may convey your intentions to him. A friendly chat to begin with may help. You may invite him for Tea when children are around and make him feel comfortable with you. Then a visit to the mall together, or seeking his help in your garage etc. could be variety of "situations" you can create to communicate your desire to him.

Why not start slow and see where it goes? Start out friendly like a new neighbor does and flirt a little. If he flirts back then go for it..if not then you know where you stand. Good luck_

Basically, what you do is walk up to him and try to engage him in a conversation. If that doesn't work invite him over for a house warming party.

So what do you do if you hit the sack together, but find out you can't stand him? Move? I'm with Curious--don't date close to home.
