I think he should be given a chance to land the plane before being raptured away. We can't have airplanes up in the air without anybody behind the proverbial steering wheel, after all. The same goes for motorists - there should be like a ten minute 'rapture warning', so they have ample time to pull their cars over to the side of the road. Otherwise, it has all the makings of a serious traffic hazard.

I'm thinking about it now, and perhaps we should only have non-Christian airplane pilots. If there's the possibility of the Rapture happening mid-flight, it creates a danger for passengers aboard the airplane. I know it sounds crazy, but they often take away the driver's licenses of people who suffer epilectic seizures, since if they have a seizure while driving, it's a danger to themselves and other motorists. Isn't this sort of the same thing?

I'm assuming Santa Claus wears a flame retardant suit, so in the off chance the fireplace is lit, he has some degree of protection. (I'll have to ask that question next, I guess.)

Savvy - I don't think the question is could He do it. The more important question is would He?

God has all the pilots on the list and will make sure the planes are magically landed when this happens. Same for cab drivers, etc. It is a very complex logistics thing to protect the damned from unnecessary death so they can be tortured later.

The Rapture will cause chaos and destruction such as the world has never seen since the time of the great flood of Noah. There's a great movie out about it called "Left Behind" that offers us a glimpse of what life on earth will be like after the rapture takes place. It's eye-opening. Most people don't stop to think what they'll be dealing with after Christ returns to rapture His church.

I'm not planning on sticking around to deal with the destruction. I'm gonna FLY!

Where ever you are when the Rapture takes place, if you are saved, you will be 'raptured' from there. I don't understand what the problem is. There are so many on this site that belittle God and his followers. So I (as a saved, sanctified Christian) say that in that case why should there be a problem. If there is no God like they all have stated, then why not depend on their god to land the plane and get them out of harms' way. May God Bless

if it is rature then what is the difference? cars and planes wont hit anyone since they have been judged. The whole thing on rapture is to find out who is "naughty" and who is "nice". A warning would just allow people to try to "save" themselves and that is not the point of Rapture or armageddon, it is to catch everyone off guard and find out who truly walks the straight and narrow. For your question, all pilots would be screwed equally just like everyone else.

The pilot will ascend to heaven and all of us else on the airplane this is likewise a christian will ascend to heaven. The bible states that each and each unbeliever would recognize that God is coming down from the heavens. THE surprising element IS, some will come to repentance....yet some will curse him. superb, good? Btw, to anyone who doesnt have self assurance in Christ, GOD IS real. you do not have self assurance God is real via evidence. once you examine your bible and start to enhance spiritually the Lord places it on your heart. believe me, i recognize. i used to be an unbeliever whilst i became youthful, however the grace of God touched my heart because of the fact I had somewhat some human beings praying for me. Now it would not take place over night. you ought to examine your bible and it takes attempt to have a good dating with the Lord. im no longer asserting God purely magically makes you a honest christian....yet he does humble you. If it wasn't for the flexibility of prayer, i might nonetheless be on the direction to destruction. no longer being impolite or attempting to offend anyone, i'm purely attempting that might assist you, and that i pray that the coolest Lord leads you into the direction of rightousness! :))

That's only the beginning. Once the Rapture takes place, the gloves come off, and mankind will be subject to God's full wrath. Those who go down in pilotless aircraft will be the lucky ones.

If he is a Christian, there better be someone who can land on board!

For the people left behind, they would be blessed to die in a plane or car crash rather than live in the tribulations.

What if someone is taking a dump when it happens? Does the stuff go with them?

It's not going to happen. The Rapture is a recent idea among fundamentalist literalists that has no solid basis in their own scripture. Relax.
