There is no rapture coming so start being good now. This question reminds me of a news report a bunch of years ago. A guy was going to a halloween party with a car load of blow up dolls filled with helium. on the freeway he opened his sun roof a bit to cool off. Some of the dolls floated out of the sun roof. The couple behind them saw the bodies "floating up to heaven". the woman in the passenger seat thought it was the Rapture and jumped out her sun roof at 70 miles an hour and died. People can be so stupid.

The word Rapture, like the word Trinity, is not found in any ancient Bible translations. It's a termed coined by a 14 year old Scottish Girl in 1830 to describe some events in Revelations. "Beam Us Up Gabriel" could just as easily be used in today's work. So we'll all get "beamed up!"
Why Christians choose to embrace a modern term coined by a teenager is still a mystery to me.
I'm sure Joan of Arc and Brigham Young also had some dandy new sayings about Biblical things.
My Bible says be careful not to follow False Prophets least you get the Mark of the Beast and your name will not be in the Book of Life.
One could be taken up to God only to be returned to Earth after a reading from the Book!
If everyone going up is in the book, then what is the purpose of the Book and what is the Purpose of the Bible saying you will come forward and be told if you are or are not in the book.
The Bible says ALL that know you will be present for the reading from the Book of Life and at that time you will or will not be found in the book.

I believe that the church is taken out of the world before the seven year tribulation period begins. One of the main reasons is that in the bible, talking about the rise of the antichrist, the verse says there is a "hindering force" that is holding back his rise to power. Many bible scholars think this is the effect of God's spirit working in millions of Christians and when they are removed from the earth, the antichrist will no longer be "hindered". Also, the bible says we are not appointed unto wrath, and the tribulation is God's wrath upon the earth.
Actually the rapture could happen at any time. I also believe that the removal of the church from the earth starts the clock ticking on the 7 year tribulation period. Last thing: when we meet the Lord in the air, the Lord does not descend to earth. He plants His foot on earth in the second coming.

Do you know that a lot of Christians can point to what makes the coming of Jesus seem just around the corner, in effect looking negatively on the world when they are supposed to be part of the answer against misery. Which is what Jesus teaches when he said that not even the Angels know. So this pre-occupation with the end of the world is anti-christ in nature.

One question for you, those left behind in Noah's time, what happened to them?
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Another question, did God save the three Hebrew from the fiery furnace? No, He went through the trial with them.
Also notice the timing of the rapture:
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition
The rapture comes after the man of sin is revealed. Kinda blows the pretrib rapture theory away.
The rapture and the second coming are one and the same event according to the Bible. When does Paul say that corruptible puts on incorruptible, at the last trump, the shout of the archangel, the glorious second appearing of Jesus Christ. Those left behind when Jesus comes again will be destroyed by the brightness of His coming.
Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed Luke 17:28-39
Notice what happened to those left behind in Sodom.
I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. Luke 17:34-37
Notice what happens to those left behind, wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles (vultures) be gathered. This is what is called the great feast of the birds in Revelation 19:17,18
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

The notion of the Rapture is a very recent concept and only comes from badly twisted readings of particular passages...taken out of context, naturally. Don't bother with it.
If you really want to know about it without getting preached at, go here: http://www.religioustolerance.org/rapture.htm

Are you talking about the Rupture? The Rupture has nothing to do with Christians evading baldness. It refers to a great splitting of reality and the ensuing hissing sound that will envelop our yellow world. Get on your knees and pray mightily.

The rapture is Jesus returning for His people and leaving others behind. There will be a lot of goings on during the times leading up to, during and after.
Get the book.
