I have these bizarre little bumps all over the outside (the hairy part) of my arms. They look somewhat like pimples, but they are not. They are rather unattractive, so I would like some suggestions about how to get rid of them. Any ideas would be great!

I have had these strange bumps too! All of my life, and I'm 48. I can't seem to get them to go away, completely. But, to keep them under control, I use a loofa when I take a shower, and moisturize afterwards. I did notice that when the weather is humid, they seemed to go away.

Everything you are putting on your face has drying ingredients in them, no wonder your skin is so dry and irritated. Unfortunately, alot of these teen based products do nothing like what you see on tv. Get down to basics and use a mild soap with no perfume like cetaphil and I have found a wonderful moisturizer at Walgreens that is great for sensitive skin. The line is called "say yes to carrots". They are all natural and feel amazing and have not caused me any trouble. Good luck.

Here is a good reference:

Keratosis Pilaris (KP) is a very common skin condition often referred to as "chicken skin". If you have keratosis pilaris, you are not alone. Worldwide, keratosis pilaris affects an estimated 40 to 50% of the adult population and approximately 50 to 80% of all adolescents. Varying in degree, cases of KP can range from minimal to severe.

Most people with keratosis pilaris don't know they have it. While KP resembles goosebumps, it is characterized by the appearance of small, rough bumps on the skin. Primarily, it appears on the back and outer sides of the upper arms, but can also occur on thighs and buttocks or any body part except palms or soles. (Often confused with acne.)

Check out antifungal cream. Try some (Lotrimin, clotrimazole) in a trial area for about 1 week. If the bumps go away, then read up on candida albicans fungus at www.hufa.org - the yeast link. And use the antifungal cream on all of them.

It is from dry skin.My son gets them every time the weather turns cold outside.Lots of lotion and no real hot baths or showers should help some.
