Hi...I completely agree. I have such a hard time going out to eat and paying a premium price for something I know I can make alot better and cheaper at home. And I truly enjoy making it too. I love to cook.

A B S O L U T E L Y !!! I've never liked dining out. When I was a kid, I would get "ansty" waiting for the food to arrive and it seemed like a lot to ask a wiggly 4 or 5 year old to sit still while someone I didn't know and couldn't see was cooking for me.
As I got older, I worked in LOTS of kitchens and that just reinforced my distaste for eating out. I saw what was done to the food "in the back" and if more people knew what was being done to their food, they wouldn't eat in restaurants either, believe me!
Plus, it is SO expensive and you are right, the food just doesn't taste the same. You are lucky to have married a good cook. Make sure you let her know how much you appreciate her culinary skills.
Here's to eating at home!

Well, I don't think illegal immigrants are any more or less likely to cook bad food than citizens or legal aliens ...
We used to eat out a lot for convenience's sake but then, for financial reasons, we cut way back and it's kind of nice and cozy and homey and satisfying and the food is probably healthier.
I absolutely hate it when I'm sitting in a restaurant and the waiter or waitress tries to take my plate away from me before I'm finished with it! And this happens a lot in restaurants but strangely enough never at home ;-)

I prefer to cook different things all the time... Dine Out At HOME!!!
I have tons of recipes so lately my hubby isnt getting bored with the same ole same ole... lemme know if you want any recipes!
(The new Pampered Chef theme cook book is all about dining out at home... the more sophisticated sounding, elegant meals but are so easy to make and are yummy!!)

I love to cook and have prepared meals for more years than I care to remember. My daughter is a wonderful cook but she and I agree that sometimes the nicest thing we can do is eat out and take a break! We are very particular about where we eat but there is nothing better for us than to have someone else prepare it, serve it, and clean up afterwards.

I think you eat less and save money eating at home. I've worked in restaurants for 20 years and some of the stuff I've seen really scares the hell out of me to. But illegals aren't the problem I've seen a lot of red blooded americans do some stuff to. If I do eat out I usually look at the ratings in the paper or online from the state board of health when they inspect if the report is bad I won't eat there. Plus if people tell me stuff I stay away to

Yup, home cooked meals are the best. I never eat anything if I don't know where it comes from. My mom makes all my food, haha.

The average rest would give you a scare if you really knew how they prepared your food and the cleanliness behind it. I prefer a home cook meal myself, but unfortunately I get stuck doing it.

I completely agree!! I've known many who work in the food industry...you don't even want to know what they do to your food. But YOU, my friend, should learn to cook also!!! Why should the wife have to cook all the time??
