Unfortunately all religions back then were violent, they all killed for supremacy, Islam for some reason continues to commit criminal atrocities against Innocent people, and it is because of Islams continuing violence that makes them the most violent religion in the world today. Christians do not kill Innocent people just because they believe in something else, some will try and say Christians are killing people all over the world, this is not true armies, war mongering governments, dictators, Islamic terrorists clerics, I do not see the pope out there holding a gun or a sword to anyones head.

There aren't really any numbers available for this, so it's impossible to answer. All religions of the world have had periods of conquest and oppression...Islam is going through one just now. There's going to have to be a Reformation soon or the whole thing will collapse.

The Aztec faith sure has to be in the top ten, though.

Islam is the religious text (The Quran and Sunnah). Muslims are the people. Sure, there have been violent and disobedient muslims throughout all times. But you can't blame the religion.

# The sons of Jacob trick Shechem into getting circumcised. Then they murder him, his sons, and all the males of the city, while taking their wives captive. 34:24-29

# "The terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them." 35:5

# A child who hits or curses his parents must be executed. 21:15, 17

I would say no, probably Christianity ( no offense to any Christin's) to become a major religion they burns thousands on cross for being pagan and for not following the church.

i don't think that it is the religion that is violent,but the people who believe in it(or actually pretend to) as they use this religion to justify all their unjustified action.
