many buddhists consider jesus to have been a bodhisattva, which means a spiritually enlightened being (no bearing on divinity btw) who makes a conscious choice to stay in the living plane in order to help others.

There is only one book that matters: The Christian bible. This is our source of information concerning Jesus, the Christ.

Within the bible, there are no Buddhist teachings, no one trying to reach enlightenment. Buddhism many have been known to every province of the Roman Empire, including Judah. But Buddhism had no place in the Jewish teachings.
Jesus was a Jew, a Jewish rabbi, and the Jewish Messiah (Christ). We know his life, his death, and his resurrection. And we know the early Christian teaching, none of them dealing with enlightenment.

So what is a Buddhist messenger? It is not God, it is not an angel, it is not a man, then what is it? It is definitely not Judeo-Christian. No where will you find the teaching of enlightenment. What you will find someone looking at Judeo-Christian texts and incorporating them into Buddhism (see source list), but that view can not be support by the Christian bible.

I've searched a bit on the net and indeed there are article of Jesus' life before He started His ministry. It's very likely that Jesus lived and experienced things as a human man (17 to late 20's) during that period even though he was raised under Jewish law.

It was Jesus' baptism by John that changed everything when God spoke to Him.

All you need to know about Jesus is recorded in the Bible.

Jesus is considered an Enlightened One by many Buddhists, yes. However, they believe that the Bible is generally false for putting attempting to make a god of the man.

Buddha taught an entirely different, more self-reliant form of spirituality that does not involve reliance on God. Jesus, on the other hand, spoke incessantly about God. It is very difficult to align the two philosophies with one another.

If he is a buddhist messenger, he did an awful job. Disguising as a Jew was a bad start, then it was all downhill from there by keeping Jewish law perfectly and dying for gentiles and Jews.

He didn't deny Himself, like some Buddhist would do when it came to dealing with people.

Nada.
Bible says Jesus was God. He is risen from the dead, Buddha remains on earth, lifeless.

BIG Difference.
