NO NO NO!!! I know some kids try drinking and what not but that does not make it right for a the parents or parent to provide the stuff. Yea the teens with think you are great you have just stepped over the line and now they no longer will look at you the same way. And you probably have just lost some of the respect that they had for you. Please Wait til they are 21 and then go somewhere and buy them a drink. They will respect you more for it later.

these people are wrong its not illegal to give YOUR child alcohol. I worked at a grocery store(in Texas) and I had to take a class on alcohol sales, because it was a college city and I think they wanted to make sure they[store] wouldnt be responsible if the employees sold alcohol to minors. Anyway I was certified to sell alcohol offically by the state and you can let your child and only your child(not friends) drinking in a private environment, but you are responsible for them while they are drinking so pretty much no leaving the house.

Anyways I wouldnt give my teen alcohol though just cuz I dont like it personally

Hi there!

Well, I think that If I were in your shoes it would definitely depend on the occasion. It is a lot safer then the teen going out and finding someone to buy it for them. A 19 year old will get it anyway possible, if you wouldn't. It would be a lot safer for ya if you probably went ahead and bought it for your child instead. I am sure that it is a pretty big decision though! Good luck!

No. First of all, it is illegal and we are trying to teach our children morals and how to be responsible adults. If we break the law ourselves, we are setting a bad example for them. We are basically telling them, "Well, the law says this, but I am going to do this." That's not good.
Secondly, being of legal age means that you have earned the right and responsibility to do things that you are legally able to do. In most states, the legal drinking age is 21. That means that until 19 years of age, it is NOT okay to drink. This is mostly because a 21 year old is more likely able to handle the responsibility and less likely to take advantage of the situation.

Nope, they not driving for now, but they are gonna be driving at some point, and they also gonna move out to another place at some point, com on drinking alcohol is just stupid. Alcohol can be deadly if a person drinking too much, no matter if a person is driving or not.

A parent shouldn't be supplying their children with alcohol. My own parents may allow me to have a glass of wine during a nice meal but they would never actually buy me booze. It's just something a parent shouldn't do.

Do not buy them alcohol! That would just get them addicted (unless they already are) and that would make a bad person out of them. Alcohol can do so many things to a teenager, and they are not always the best. Don't do it, it's so bad.

No, but maybe give them a safe place to drink it if they happen to acquire it. That would definitely lessen the liability factor. Play dumb about it, so you can deny that you knew anything was going on if someone crashes, and their parents try to sue you. If your young adult should get out of line and not use discretion in keeping "it" on the down-low, give him/her a swift kick in the a55.

Possibly; it all depends on the kid. If he is responsible, and not likely to abuse it, then yes, if he is immature, then no. It also depends on which kind of alcohol you are talking about, for instance, a glass of wine or beer is considerably different then whiskey or other "hard" liquor.

my daughter is only 13, so i have yet to do it, but my mom did when i was 18 and above...she always thought that it was best if i did drink, to be safe in the home and that way she knew where i was, what i was doing and so she could monitor me..so, when the time comes for me to decide, i probably would too..
